If you guys interested this is a diver’s watch to buy without breaking the bank. Citizen NY2300 with Miyota 8200 inside. Unlike most Seiko watches with 7S26/36 inside this has hand-winding feature which can only be found in medium/high end Seiko(s).
A watch thread here too?
My watch problem is was could be worse than my flashlight addiction. I have so many watches. I haven’t bought one in a while though… hopefully this thread doesn’t stir that up!
I don’t currently even wear a watch daily, I didn’t want to destroy one at work, so I have gotten used to not having one on.
I have a couple Citizens, a Seiko, a few Disel, a couple Swatches, and a bunch of other random ones most of them are dead and need new batteries.

Ordered this one on ebay for $25.18. It a Timex Weekender #T2N757. I really like the style, and it's cheap enough not to worry about scratches, etc. It's small at 36mm. Has an 18mm navy blue leather band which I plan to replace with a khaki nylon band..

Very “clean” looking. What’s the advertised battery life? Wonder how long it’s been in storage/shelf. Is it easy to change/replace the wrist band? How much is the nylon band? Can the battery be easily replaced, that is, is the cover open easily, not requiring a special tool?

From what I've read, the battery is supposed to last 10 years. The back snaps on which isn't hard to remove. The band is easily replaced. I ordered one from here for 12.99. I already bought one for another watch I have. It's nice quality.
Seiko Solar SNE095_P2. I replaced the green strap with a black.
I have had it since 2011 and I don't have to switch batteries, just have let it catch some sun now and then. And I don't have to take it off in the shower, swimming or washing hands. Just about perfect for me.

Yes and no. They are technically less accurate than quartz movements but usually more consistent, which some people say is better. Mine usually loses about a minute a month on the dot. But I change watches like socks so I have to set my autos every time I go back to them. That’s why I’ve been looking at the Seiko solar versions, though I don’t mind setting a watch I like. This is one I like. I’m also a big fan of Citizen Eco Drive.
Here’s mine, and I plan to get more Seiko 5’s:
I’ve never owned a watch before in my life bt for Father’s Day this year my buddy gave me this same watch (but in green) and I’ve wore it every day since. I ordered a kaki 18mm NATO band for it from amazon and after 11 days a black one came Thursday so who know how long its gonna take to get to a replacement.
Both him and his dad own nothing but seiko’s.

They are good watches. The one on the left is about 14 years old. Got almost 8 years on the first battery. Keeps good time too. I've changed the band a few times. It's the one weak spot on these. They crack after a few years..

Yep, I’ve changed the band countless times on my Casio, and several times it almost fell off my wrist and got lost before I realized the band was broken. My particular model isn’t super battery efficient like yours, the battery usually only lasts a bit over a year. I’ve had it for years, and my first two Casios also lasted me almost a decade each of 24/7 usage.

Do you know what model that is? Looks sharp!

I’m lookng for a few Casio-like watches for work. Anyone have an ‘Alike’ brand in their EDC collection? About $6-$12. Here are a few that caught my eye:

No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
These look definitely super good and for such a low price it is hard to resist. The third one is what I like most.
Tmart has also nice watches I have this on order which cost me less than 12$.
Check out this thread for a short review of a casioclone.
I’ve been trying out the gear fit for a few months. I really like it. It gets a lot of attention and it serves the function of displaying texts and emails well enough. It’s going back in a couple weeks, but I look forward to future smartwatches.
This is my EDC watch. It’s really worn and has ruined me for non tritium watches. I have even joined a forum to try and figure out how to get tritium into those Seiko Racer 5 watches. It might not be possible due to space available for thick watch hands.

Ooh nice. I didn’t know Citizen made automatics.
Yes they are but their movements (Miyota) also being supplied to other companies like Invicta, Laco and others.

Thanks a lot!
It looks nice but the case is a bit too shiny for my taste.

Here's two more. A Tag Heuer I bought when I was Vegas 22 years ago. And a Movado Valor I got nearly 10 years ago. The Tag needs a new battery.

Don’t automatics need maintenance or oiling every 5 years or so too?
