P60 Styled Sinner Custom Host - "BLFP60-SCH" -

Excited!! Thanks for the update.

Personally, I appreciate that you're taking the time to do it right, rather than rushing it for the sake of doing something quickly. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm in no rush and would prefer quality (within reason, given the proposed price range) over having something asap. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like!

Great news, thanks for the updates.

Hi,

Anyone (sinner?) know if what sinner is making would work with one of the Carclo quad optics:

and a new quad star like the one IS has started selling? I have the optics now, and some of the boards coming in, but haven’t selected/found a host yet (yes, I’m aware of the other thread).

EDIT: I think that the diameter of the optics is 24mm.

EDIT 2: And, the diameter of the star ([Feeler Thread] Copper direct-connected 20mm triples and quad universal MCPCB boards) is 20mm.

The 24mm carclo lens will not work right away but a few custom modifications will be required obviously a spacer to account for the reduced length of the mount, and a custom head with 23mm or 22mm aperture so the optics dont fall off. Currently the bezel/head cap is 32mm OD 24mm ID. Hope this helps.

I was imagining that the quad optics would just rest against the lens and a spacer to take up the slack space left over.

Most likely, that would definitely work.

Another (add’l) possibility maybe is some kind of washer (black) that would sit against the lens and have an inner diameter slightly smaller than the OD of the Carclo? It’s a bit of a hack, but it looks ok if the washer is nice.

Washers and spacers can be sold as add-on’s , just need dimensions but only once everything else is sorted out.

I think best would be a heatsink made for it that is thicker to get the star and optics to the front of the lens instead of having them sit back with a spacer stealing lumens

I remember this guy that disappeared had a quad drop in that well, dropped into p-60’s.
So they should fit. Also in the realm of gaskets, there is a guy that used to sell custom GITD gaskets. I dropped him a PM to see if he is still in play. I’ll check to see if anyone else still makes them in blue. Green is so pedestrian.

Assuming that that’d be the case, i.e., that you’d be willing to potentially offer washers and spacers for a quad setup “after-market” :), put me down for 2, pending what the shipping costs to U.S. would be!

Hi,

I agree that that’d be optimal :)!

They will ship from US so the standard first class $3.50 (or $5.15 in case of multiple hosts and priority shipping)

Ok, thanks for that info. Does that include tracking also? I’m still good for 2 (ok, I know, that’s not a lot of them).

I’ll try to make it compatible with the quad optics as stock, that’d be ideal.

Hi,

Great, in case you haven’t seen it, this is the (a?) thread about looking for hosts for quads. Now totally cross-posted, sorry.

Sinner, perhaps you could offer different bases for the P-60’s. The standard base for use with a reflector, one for use with a triple and one for use with a quad.

Another idea just struck me. Could you make a spacer that threads onto the P-60 base in the same way as the reflector? Then people could just order multiple P-60 bases and spacers to have lots of different options in their builds and you only have to design one other part to open up a lot more options.

I hope I’m helping… I’m no machinist so it seems very easy not knowing what challenges this would entail.

No worries guys I have printed a suggestions and recommendations page , I hope to enhance the design as much as I can.
