This battery has more capacity than rated and a protection at about 3A.
The discharge curves looks nice with good tracking and not much capacity drop when loaded.
Conclusion
These batteries has a good performance for 14500 batteries, but the voltage under load cannot match the best batteries.
I will rate the battery as acceptable.
Thanks for the review.
I have two 18650 Brillipower 3400. As far as I know their cell is made in China, but actually the batteries perform pretty well.
The only cons I found so far is the protection circuit which kicks in at 2,6V(or maybe lower).
Hope you will review them too.
A little off topic-did someone already send you the Olight 3400 for review? I want finally to see a trusted review of these batteries.
Olight just went too far with their aggressive marketing pretending their batteries are better than everything. :Sp
It depends on chemistry. Depending on battery the lowest voltage is rated to 3.00, 2.75, 2.50 volt or in a single case 2.00 volt. To give the most energy from the battery the protection must be just below that voltage.
I have been testing a couple of batteries for low voltage protection and how the protection works, when I have put the results together I will have an article about it. It will probably be a few of weeks, just now I have way to many NiMH+LiIon charger reviews to write.
So when a battery maker uses the wrong protection circuit, it’s a big screw-up, and should be criticized . It basically robs you of what you thought you were paying for.
