Just finished inspecting my lights. No logo on any of them. I'm very happy! :)
Two out of eight of mine did have off-center leds. It's might be either a manufacturing flaw or caused by a bump during the journey from China, but anyways easily fixable: 1. Remove battery 2. Open the bezel 3. Remove O-ring and lens 4. Adjust reflector so that the emitter is centered (just take it away and put back, keeping the emitter centered) 5. Put the lens back 6. Put O-ring back 7. Screw in the bezel
=> Emitter perfectly centered (and user happy) :)
Here's a photo of the off-center emitter:
Squad of GB lights running on alkalines, lead by the CW sample (on Li-Ion)
Edit: One more thing: The NW tint is quite warm, just like in the original CQG S1 v1.
I ordered 6 (2 x NW & 4 x CW) on July 8th and my online status is still showing pending. I have sent my order info to bestgear and the CSbestgear handles. Please update order status when you get a chance.
I had ordered a NW one of these a couple days after the coupon was released, and just got it in the mail.
Tint is very nice, and has just the right flood/throw for an AAA size light in my opinion. Threads are good, and the head and tailcap seam together incredibly well.
Thanks, the, for organizing this. I wish I had more money, because I would buy several more for stocking stuffers at this crazy good price.
I placed 2 orders. first one was for 2 lights and paypal says payment went through, but order still says in processing. Second order for 1 light went through and already says shipped. anyone else have this problem?
I got mine today! Great item!!! I have a question. How do I open the tailcap? My friend wants the button to be out more. He says it is hard for him to press it. Any suggestions?
It better than having it turn on in your pocket and find the cell dead when you need it.
I got one NW yesterday, arrived DOA. Thanks for the photos of dis-assembly, I quickly found that the positive lead came off the star. Looks like a cold solder joint that let go in transit. A tiny dab of flux and a touch with the soldering iron fixed it. Great light for the price. Probably best with Ni-MH unless you only use short bursts. Thanks _the_ & GB.
