Caught Some Kids That "Were Up To No Good"

I agree what you did sounds fun and is something I, myself, would enjoy doing. But, I believe behavior like this will eventually result in stricter laws and restrictions on our hobby. Right now, most people think of flashlights as harmless. Folks will eventually start realizing the potential harm that can be caused by them. Behavior like you described will accelerate the process. May sound far fetched to you. Mark my words. They will, unfortunately, will prove true.

With great power comes great . . .

EDIT: I just realized that you called the kettle black again. You're calling me a party popper after that story of yours?

“regulation”?

Nannystatism…uggh

I totally agree with your sentiment WarHawk. I rather regulate myself than have "The Man" regulate me.

So what would have happened had some children seen these people having sex. Indecent exposure maybe? Maybe you’re state allows that sort of thing, but its frowned upon where I come from.

And like I said in my original post, I had the light on the other people (just walking along) for a split second and never the same people twice. If you’re that hyper sensitive to shining lights on people then why are you on this forum. It was all harmless!

I live on the beach. I try never to shine down on people, but sometimes it happens by accident. OP’s stories sound sensationalized to me tbh.

I like the story!!

It's not like you'll do that every day... come on guys, loosen up a little...maybe one day they will even forbid modifying flashlights

He isn't shining at helicopters or cars driving by. Some things that can be dangerous..

But this is just something we all enjoy once in a while!

Not condemning you Yourrid…let’s not play with what if’s…let’s show that you were “illuminating” things best left un-seen…plus it ain’t illegal till yer caught :stuck_out_tongue:

Sweet that you have a mega pymp thrower though…closest thing I have is a Convoy C8 and an Ultrafire F13 I just got thru tweaking…

Believe me or dont. Dissagree with me or not. Was just trying to share the halarious events that happened while I was on vacation. :weary:

Wonder what you would have done though if one of those kids would’ve popped you with a 2 watt laser?

Always a 2 way street isn’t it? I have seen times that I might have enjoyed burning one on the beach during a storm, would probably have ignored a light though, not scattered. And I’ve seen times that a little sand dance in the rain might also have been quite enjoyable. Not like any little kids were gonna be out late at night during a Thunderstorm right? But there’s always 2 sides.

Were I the one in the 10th floor Condo, I probably would not have been able to resist a little 600Kcd beach play my own self… just sayin!

I just took it as a funny story, thank you for sharing Yourrid. Keep um coming.

Couldn't have said it better.

Feeling sorry for those unhappy teenagers.

If someone had a 2 watt laser, I’d fly down 10 stories of stairs (the elevators were super slow) and ask them where I could buy one. That’s after my eyes stop bleeding from the awesome power of his laser, of course.

Hahaha, yep!

I honestly think this is very irresponsible. Annoying people with high powered flashlights is not very considerate.

And trust me, if someone shines a 2 watt laser at your eyes you’re blinded for life.

Don’t even joke about such things.

The funny part of the story is the person with the sk68 lighting up the first hut . His wife was probably very impressed with how bright his light was .... until you lit up the sky .

No one likes bright lights when you've got your pants down .Asa kid i remember getting caught in the car by the cops ...i;m sure they thought it was funny to sneak up and ...hit the high beams and the bull horn .

Ranks right up there with donuts

I'm not judging Yourrid. I'm just saying we need to be careful about using our lights on non-voluntary subjects. The backlash will be an unjustified over reaction, but it will happen none the less.

They won't outlaw modding lights. They will outlaw using them in too many situations. Like with lasers, people will not feel safe pointing them into the sky for fear of being sentenced to jail and fined thousands of dollars. We may get to a point were we are afraid of just shining our lights up in the sky (cloud bouncing, etc).

In the future, if you did this again and you illuminate a cop on the beach, you may go to jail.

By the way folks, a 2W laser can do irreversible eye damage in less then a flash.

Not really related to the post, but if I see something like this happen I won’t turn on my light or if I can use a lower mode that won’t completely outshine it. Unless of course we’re at a pier and I need to turn it on to see then I’m going to turn it as high as I see fit. But I won’t intentionally one up someone who’s having a bit of fun their sk68 (I know how common they’re getting australia…).

Me too!!

Too late

I digress…was a good story…but someone out there will always get their feelings hurt…
