Canister Lights - some budget can. lights

I see a bunch of interesting Can. lights on Aliexpress...

> *Brinyte DIV10 (AliExp, AliExp, AliB, eBay, eBay search, Amzn, ~$180; previously was $118):

This is 3 x XM-L2. The main question would be how the beam profile looks. Of course it will have plenty of spill, but does it have a good hotspot.

- If this light is anything like the quality of their other dive lights it would be one of the best can. light deals.

> Brinyte DIV06 (here, Ali, eBay): Single LED can. light.

I would like to try this one. I don't know if that switch is reliable... not sure how it works. I like how it runs on 3 x 26650s should have good runtimes, but canister seems long (10.5'') though my personal one is ~9.5''. 2.5A working current. 1yr warranty

And DIV09 (AliB, AliB, AliExp, DRIS, eBay): not sure how this is different from the DIV06, but I suspect it's brighter, either because higher current (2.8A) and/or higher flux bin Cree XM-L. This probably replaces the DIV06??

> Video Canister Light: Brinyte 3 LED.

I don't own any of these. But they may be a great budget alternative to the high priced can lights.

It would be nice to hear some reports about these. SB post on DIV10

Update: Removed the Dyshineway lights - heard too many reports of poor quality. Archon WH32, WH36 - no response from US distributor (LightnBeyond) - therefore I won't recommend.

I'll update whenever I find better prices

EDC lights are worth the risk but myself and so many others I know got the short end of the stick when ordering dive lights from buba.
Visa dispute center is useless when ordering from them. Definitely would not spend $500…

On the bright side you get to learn a lot because of all the swapping and modding of parts.

Some people have had poor service with AliExpress. But it really depends on who you deal with. I mean the seller. Like everything else - some are good and some aren't.

Like I've said before. I seem to be gravitating toward the Brinyte brand of dive lights because of the quality I've seen. I've had great results with their line of lights. With other brands - not so much.

So I edited my above recommendations to reflect that. I thought it best to only recommend the premium / leading brand(s), since no one wants to return their dive light back to China for repair. That would mean paying shipping and handling back to China and a long wait for their light to return back after warranty work.

I've done it and don't want others to have to deal with that.

Try these (last week they had lots with 24 PAR30 bulbs for $99 shipped). And their bulbs are real bulbs… no Chinese junk.

Hey MRT,
I’m interested in buying the Brinyte DIV10 or another can light. In your original post, you have it listed for around $118. Is there anywhere cheaper than this listing now?

Try contacting Brinyte. PM’ing you an email address for their rep. They gave me some good prices, but shipping maybe a problem. Currently, I have only been quoted DHL shipping, but I am trying to see if they have cheaper options. The quoted prices are cheaper than what is provided by a lot of the online sellers.

Or ask them through Alibaba what it would cost. < that hyperlink goes to the Brinyte DIV10

Ask for item price + shipping to US - if that's where you live.

There's also this offer from DRIS.

Yeah I asked them through Alibaba and have gotten lackluster results. They have asked for more than I could just buy the can on ebay, by $40 or so. I’ll just buy it there I guess.

I did the same via the Brinyte website contact page, postage on 5 lights with retail packaging and it was $15 to Aus. These were all EDC lights though, 3 cr123 and 2 x 2AA(1x14500), each package is maybe 10 x 20 x 3 (cms). Prices were good but then again they were clearing stock, but all are xm-l2.

Oddly though, I guess it was a follow up that led to the purchase. I had inquired of them, then never responded to their initial offer on those lights which was higher. Worked out well for me because a few weeks maybe a month or two later, the contact then emailed me with the clearance offer which was a very good deal.

Well I’ve got a div10 coming in. I’ll be testing it a fair bit before giving it some cave use (believe me there will be backups).

$15 AUS is a good deal.
