I wouldn’t know how to articulate the pattern I’m after. I’ve seen beam-shots of the G2 and it’s great. I just fear the Y3 is the wrong host for it considering it makes the XML beam soo thin.
I guess 30 degree hotspot with the rest flood would be what you would expect with a G2? Otherwise might as well leave it as is.
Think I posted this before, a wall shot of the stock Y3 can be found here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/27258, compared to a few other lights. Looks like the flood area is smaller than a HD2010 - all beamshots taken from same exact distance off the wall (light and camera). An HD2010 has a pretty shallow reflector compared to other throwers show (K40, M12, etc.), so wider flood.
when I was ordering another light.
I ordered 1 version C + AR.
Said forum, so I figured it might be here.
It was, so I’m reporting my buy.
This is getting addictive.
Definitely… Then you can see how far you still have to go… And you can see how little you have spent so far, compared to what you are going to spend if you spend any amount of time here…
Down_South, I have over 100 18650 cells. Add that into your thinking. And 9 chargers. It does get very addictive, you need a good strong resolution to get through some of the things you learn here.
The majority of mine are high discharge cells like 20R, 25R Sony C4, C5 , Efest 35A and then some Panasonic PF, PD and 3400mAh B’s. I’ve only got a few Sanyo lap pulls.
