I wish we had RMM in Australia :stuck_out_tongue:

Supersports600 on ebay sells protected 18650’s but for an absolutely ridiculous price.

see: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/19237

18650 gonna have to be either the laptop battery from ebay previously mentioned or fasttech!

RMM has been a bit frustrating for me. Twice used the site contact form for a quote and never received a response. Just gonna wait for a proper online international ordering system.

Illumn. Works out fine if you dont want 1 battery. Calvin is great to deal with too, and prices are comparable. Only the cost of post stings, but like I said, buy more than one item and its not so bad. When I worked it out, using the cheaper Chinese sites it wasnt worth the wait and hassle over a buck or two per battery. Illumn just delivers quick, same quality, same price, just spread post across more items.

Yea that’s true. I did get a head lamp off illumn and some miscellaneous things. 7 days door to door. They don’t sell the same range of DIY parts etc though, like FET drivers, MTG2 QO, convoy triple setups etc.

Most of you may know already but for those who don’t this ebay seller still has the best price on KeepPower 5200 26650 batteries. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-X-26650-Keeppower-5200-mAh-rechargeable-Lithium-ion-batteries-yes-5200mAh-/281353168513?pt=AU_Electronics_Batteries_Chargers&hash=item4181f4a681

He mentioned that he’s neglected to do the maths on his price and he may actually be losing out after paypal and fees. That may mean he will be raising the price. Not unusual to either, considering he’s got better prices than everywhere else. And that’s rare for an Aussie seller!

These are the protected ones. Another $3.00 for the pair.

I saw those awhile ago and they are indeed a great price

They sent me two by mistake.

I'll take the extra packet to get rid of them for you.

I think the Dick Smith pick-n-pack workers are a bit tired of sending out batteries and just ramming them into envelopes randomly.

I’d love to see more Aussie group buys, especially with drivers. We could bulk buy from the RMM then just post stuff in padded envelopes. I think the postage on batteries would make it prohibitive though. You would have to buy 10+ batteries just to justify the price of Australia post.

AA Eneloops from Dick Smith. Home delivery only. If someone knows how to use the postage estimator please let us know.

The postcode box you can see does not work :~
Scroll down a bit and select “delevery” from the four options, then enter your post code and choose suberb/area from the pop up selector.

Cheers David

Thanks. Free delivery to me.

The post code box - type postcode and wait for a drop-down list to appear then select suburb. Don’t just enter postcode and hit GO that doesn’t work.

Did anyone get around to measuring the China-made eneloops and comparing them to the Japan-made ones? There are plenty of rumours of them being different, having different specs on the packaging, being rebadged Panasonic Evoltas, etc, but nothing substantiated as far as I know.

Its actually the first I’ve seen of them but if they are Evoltas I wouldn’t mind at all.

I have 30+ AA Panasonic Evoltas (mostly still in packets) and they get used more than my eneloops, the capacity of them after dozens of charges over about 2 years are the same as they were when they were new.

I was tempted to buy these (I was in the middle of the checkout process) but I have enough already, I really just wanted them because they look pretty and the packet would never get opened.

I thought the Evoltas were Sanyo Eneloops anyway, and Sanyo was owned by Panasonic before Panasonic bought themselves out or something like that.

To answer the question that wasnt asked in that thread, Panasonic even as a parent company of Sanyo can not take Sanyo proprietary assets as their own. They are owned by the subsidiary and people own shares in Sanyo, but not necessarily Panasonic. If Panasonic could just do as it pleased with Sanyo assets, they would be stealing from Sanyo share holders. But they are unlikely to create duplicate costs like plant when they have a subsidiary to supply them at close to cost. Despite any cosmetic changes, they are likely to be (never guaranteed) Eneloops inside.
