Uniquefire UF-1405 - A worthy zoomy?

I ordered the 2 X 26650 one on Saturday via USPS. I cant do much of a review on output but I can give an overall impression and some driver /emitter sizes.

Cant wait to hear, though I will probably be ordering it before you get yours. Just posted up a pretty hard to get e-cig mod for sale for $200. Should be a quick sale for some play money

Nice

If it is what I hope (decent lens, pill, buck driver with possible resistor mod) I will do the obvious first: dedomed xpg2@4amps and laser away :-D

I'll bet that fastech is right about the plastic lens, considering the price. I would also bet the actual dome area is smaller in diameter then 67mm. Substantially smaller, from the looks of it. Maybe it will be good for a glass lens replacement and an SST-90 mod, if there's any kind of room for a heat sink in it.

KD has 64mm and 65mm aspherics, that might be modded into it.

and DX has a 66mm one

I can feel another order coming on

I would trust the Alibaba specs more than fasttech any day. FT has a bad habbit of mis listing product materials.

I know dx had a aspheric lens that fits the crelant head that was better than the stock. Maybe that one will fit this too if the lens is no good.

This light really catches my attention, big aspherical lens flashlight with budget price is so tempting.

Some members mentioned about changing the lens into DX 66mm glass lens. I have one 66mm lens from DX laying around, while it may fits inside this light the focal length may not be exactly the same though.

That is a good point. But the DX lens was a better replacement than what the stock Crelant head had in it. Scratched and full of bubbles. Was a disappointment.

My crelant aapheric head is perfect. You must have got a crap one or display model

BTW how can an aspherical head have a round hotspot? Am i missing something here or what?

I’ve been looking at getting my first zoomie, and this one would be awesome for a possible group buy….

I think a pretty extensive review is a prerequisite though since it’s so new.

looking forward to this. its been a long time coming since any zoomie has dethroned my unique fire uf t20

I can only think of few possibilities:

1. Something to do with poor camera setting, maybe exposure, or shutter speed that makes it appears as round shape in the picture (don’t know much about camera).
2. The light was not fully zoomed out yet.
3. The light was fully zoomed out, but the lens still sits on inaccurate position. This is also the problem found in my T20 as it comes stock.

I wonder how this would do with a dedomed XP-E2 or XP-G2 on copper driven to over 3 - 4 amps and fine-tuned to get the best focus for throw.

I’d pick #2 or #3 :)… Re. #3, it could be this, but maybe they designed it purposely that way, so that when the light is “fully zoomed out” you get a round spot? I don’t know about others, but one of the things that really turned me off to zoomies was having the square beam when fully zoomed out.

this one trumps the T20 by quite a bit Wolf-Eyes SEAL-picture heavy

I ordered the one in the OP, we will see what it can do…

What batteries will fit?

Was searching for UnqiueFire seller and I found this.

Subscribed, I can’t wait to see what this beast can do!

I'm thinking 4-5a with a dedomed XPG2 seems like the way to go with this light. Maybe an XML2...

What would a dedomed emitter zoomed in to flood look like? I am guessing pretty much the same as with a dome, but could be wrong.

Looking forward to reading a review on this light myself as well. This summer's been kind of expensive so I'm cutting back on any non-essential spending, but this light really caught my eye. I don't need another thrower that's brighter than my old 52-mm XR-E Mag-Mod, but the allure is inescapable. Cool
