YEZL Y3 CNQUALITYGOODS Group buy. 3 Versions. See post 274 for delivery details.

Oh, my bad. RIC replied to my email a few mins ago. On Aug 7th, CNQ emailed the correct tracking #: LN412947177CN, and it's tracked in USPS out for delivery this morning Smile.

Thanks RIC!!

Mine (RL012118639CN) not even delivered to chinese post office (for over a week) ;(

Jamaica is right in the middle of Queens. My tracking had no entries between arrival at Jamaica and arrival at my local PO 2 days later.

CK, that number says not found in 17track.net. Sorry.

Tom, yours shows out for delivery in 17track as well. You dawg!

Delivered! Congrats Tom!

I think I’ve got a ways to go since I ordered so late. (acceptance on the 14th)

Try here: 4PX Worldwide Express - The 4PX Expresses Globally

Got both the Y3 with 1 extension, it's AR lens, and the Eagle Eye X6 today! Thay X6 is sure nice

The Y3 was wrapped up pretty well, but no box, as others mentioned. I'd say their are 4 distinct spots/marks with the shiny alum showing - one on the head on the sharp edge, one below the side button on the smooth area, 2 on the tailcap. The 3 I bought from WB had some marks, but maybe not quite as bad as this one and they all came in boxes.

The Y3 measured about 10% lower than my WB Y3, both with the stock glass lens - the CNQ Y3 lens looks foggy, and the focus might be a little worse than the WB Y3. The lens of course will be replaced with the AR one. It appears the tail amps is exactly half with 2 cells: 2.5A on 1, 1.25A on two. I did do the measurements with 2 cells in the CNQ Y3, and 1 cell in the WB Y3, so that's another variable.

Hmm so the wallbuys one is made with different specs. I’m interested how far your going to push this Tom. Do you mod the stock driver or just rip it out? I was looking to dedome and do a resistor mod. Copper wire, ect… What kind of performance would I see like that.

I wouldn't say different specs because the drivers seem to match in modes and amps, and the body/parts are all the same. Also, the beam tints match exactly. At this point, I see these possible causes:

  • foggy lens is causing loss's
  • something is slightly different in the LED mount area because the infamous "black dot" appears at a further distance than the WB Y3
  • maybe the XM-L2 LED is a bin off - T6 vs. U2?

Could all be the quality of assembly - maybe they are getting sloppy. Will know more on a full tear down.

Also to note about these stock drivers - they seem to regulate very well. I had a cell at 4.10v and read 2.8A at the tail. For a cell at 4.20v, it would read 2.5A.

Ok - for modding, a few different options... I very much prefer my own modes, so for single cell, I'd use a BLF17DD piggyback'd and use the stock board for the e-switch and a contact board. Or with this one, I'd go for a MT-G2, using a zener mod'ed BLF17DD, being able to utilize two cells.

^ Could it be due to the green o-ring between the bezel and lens being thinner than the original black one? On mine, it seems rather loose (not watertight) even with the bezel tightened all the way. I also wonder if the insulation disc/cover is too thick. The led seems pretty far back relative to the reflector.

I found a MT-G2 on aliexpress for 15 bucks. Might as well get one to see the difference de domed. It’s 4k looks like, but 6V? Can the stock driver run this for sure. 15 is already pushing it when spent 25 on the light (got $10 off, went around the back)

Thanks

Mine too. My tracking number isn’t right and Ric wrote to me I will have another thracking number…. Mmmh… I’m not so happy.

Ciao

I’m not sure you save anything on this by the time you purchase a good MCPCB… you’re setup to reflow? IOS has both options pre-mounted. Buyer protection or not, I’d rather order from Hank than a random low-feedback Aliexpress seller.

The stock driver should only run a mtg2 at 1.7A anyway. Judging by how well it regulates to 10w.

Edit

It just arrived USPS. It says flishlight on the package. The quality of this thing has me kind of taken back after the lights I’ve bought on Amazon. It’s nicely built with a quality feel to it. The knurling matches on all the tubes except for the tail and sink (less pressure). I like to knurl pyramids myself  It’s hard on the equipment but it really digs into your hand when you roid rage. Other than that, if they would have shipped it out with cardboard wrapped around the head, might have been perfect. Mine came with a good banging and dented in the bezel. It would have to be right in line with the switch, so that side will be up all the time :frowning:

Other than that, the anodizing is perfect imo. I’m sure it left China in perfect condition from the looks of it. Just needed a layer of cardboard to protect it. One of the O rings was broken, but no big deal there. Doesn’t seem those rings are the correct size anyway to keep out water. I replaced them and coated the threads with white lithium grease. I can see this being my main flashlight on the farm. The modded supernight 15-led just stomps it right now far as lumens and flood, but this light is not flood or modded yet. My wifes 5 led supernight seems more in line, and does have a better grip by design.

The ar lens came intact thankfully. Just quality work man. If you ship out here next time, use a bit of cardboard Ric. It would save some good work becoming mediocre because of the minimum wage rage that happens in shipping.

I’m in a little bit different camp though, after recently getting lights such as the Eagle Eye X6, Courui and SUPBeam K50, this one seems loosely fitted and more cheap. The extra tube was in a bubble bag (flat of course) wrapped next to the light which was in double bubble bags (also all flat) That said, the light is in surprisingly good shape.

Threads look good, but dry. The thin green o-ring between the head and bezel is almost pinched in two, but is actually still intact. And yes, the o-rings seems to be the wrong size in the tube, allowing looseness and almost assuredly would leak. The pill screws in firmly to the head though, that o-ring is pretty good there.

The white insulating disc has spots on two sides that look like it’s been glued in? Never seen that before. Guess I’ll know when I go to break it down.

At 2.20A it seems pretty weak. All in all a good host, but needs some work to make it a good useful light. Still thinking it would make a better MT-G2 light than otherwise. Will keep that in mind when getting into the driver bay.

Not a bad light at the Group Buy price, although I think I’d have been disappointed if I’d paid more.

Thanks Steve, Ric, for a job well done!

Just got mine today but everything is good but the the head is all scratched up and marred up and the tail has been marred up too.
The ar lens is in perfect condition though.

Any thoughts on replacing the o-ring with a thicker one? I checked some of the popular sites on blf but didn't see anything in 57mm. Dunno where else to look.

Can you post a picture up of the damage and I would contact Ric.
