What is the brightest budget light?

Yep; if you’re looking for a Thrower under $15, the C8 is hard to beat.

I’ve got a SkyRay King for flood. And it’s ok, but not a true flood? It lights up the sides but only as collateral damage. What can I get cheap that is like a 3 * T6 3 or more cells (parallel for run-time is ok) that is a flat out flood? Like a SRK but pure flood? 100 yard flood brightness. My SRK was like $32 so I consider it budget. I’d like to keep my mega flood the same price or lower. 18650 cells please?

100 yards of flood… I don’t think that can be done on a budget.

Maybe rip out the reflector on a triple and pump up the amps, but I doubt it would go 100 yards.

I doubt whether they are Cree bulb or not…

Want a beast of a pocket light

A Convoy S2 or S3 with a triple XP-G2 on copper noctigon and TIR, and a good BLF17DD and it’s a Convoy that thinks it’s a SRK!

I’m really interested to build this but the problem is I don’t know where to find or machine the spacer.

RMM sells them. http://mtnelectronics.com/

I haven’t had success ordering it through his online form though (as per instructions) but i know others have.

aoeu;

If outside the USA you need to PM or email RMM (Richard at Mountain Electronics) with your wants and he will get back to you with the price including shipping for the foreign order. The software on the web site cannot handle foreign orders yet due to the complexity of the various countries involved.

There is a link on the Mountain Electronics home page to a page giving instructions for foreign orders.

The 60mm Nitecore diffuser fits the SRK perfectly and converts it to pure flood. Also fits the SupFire M6 and the new Solarstorm T4 as well as the Fenix TK50. As the body is flexible rubber it basically fits lights with fronts with outer diameters from about 58/59mm to 61/62mm or so. Not domed so the beam width is going to be a bit narrower than you get with a domed diffuser like the Fenix one for the TK60.

I would like to use the red nitecore filter for hunting purposes on my srk, can anyone comment whether it will still be good for use to see for 50+ meters or so,or is there anything else you would recommend for a narrower beam?
Thanks

I understand you can’t order directly. I used the contact form on the website to request a quote as per the instructions on the main page. So that doesn’t work then?

If you find a Convoy S2+ host it doesn’t need the spacer…you will need to fill the pill then sand it flat then bond the 3x TIR to the flat surface…the S2 needs the spacer, the S2+ doesnt

It should. He has always answered my queries. If no answer in 48 hours try again as Richard is very busy. Going to law school much of the year, running the business, working part time in a law office and he is married with a kid. Definitely a workaholic!

The red filter is transparent rather than translucent like the diffuser is so will not change the beam shape appreciably, just the color. IMO it should have the reach for what you want. Certainly worth a try.

Thanks, I think I will give it a try!

Thanks! I do have an S2+ for this. Will try in the near future.

I have emailed Richard a few times, even during his move, and he or Lisa has always got back in touch about my query very pleased with their response and customer service even more so now I read about his studying and job as well as this.

I used PM on the board and sent emails to mountainelectronics@gmail.com
