Batteries provided for testing by: Basen Group

Basen lists the discharge end voltage as 3.00V and standard charging current as 0.2C, but I have chosen to simplify my tests by discharging to 2.8V and charging at 0.5A. This should make it easier to compare my test results against each other and against other reviews.

The label and specification for this battery says it can do 22A, but it was already tracking poorly at 20A. Tracking was very consistent at lower currents.

Here is the photo album where you can view or download all images, including the old 10A and 20A tests done with the Turnigy Reaktor.

Great review leaftye

Thank you for the review leftye. Great to see you coming with more data for the power hungry consumer :-)

Thanks! I hope it helps. Probably not this one since there aren't many uses for 18500's, but the other ones may help. I like doing these better than flashlight reviews even though it's a lot more work and without all the tasty pictures. I still have a few left, and hopefully when those are done I'll be able to find more to do.

Updated the first post with some new tests. 10A to 20A discharge tests done with a new dc load have replaced the older less accurate tests, internal resistance was checked with a 4 wire tester, and capacity test with a couple analyzing chargers was added.

Thanks leaftye. What a mammoth effort.

Good review…wonder why the 20A got all squiffy…15A continuous looks pretty nice!

Thank you for doing this for all of us!
