Australia Based Deals / Info / Links / Discussion

G’day matey. First post here. Not sure if this is the right place.

Looking for protected 18650 at reasonable price. Any pointer, preferred vendor around? Any problem of getting the cells from overseas?

Cheers

Depends on your quantity and patience. Banggood is reasonable for prices and speed of shipping.

Illumn and MTN electronics in America have faster shipping but you’re paying extra for it so the cost of batteries works out to be a bit more. MTN actually has very competitive prices for a US based seller.

As above, but also FastTech will deliver and have stocks of decent cells. With the US sellers, just buy a few items, maybe a good discount light and postage seems like good value. Illumn has a special on a few Sunwayman lights now. Worth a look IMO. The D40A is a bit of a staple light too  Link to thread here

Theres an Aussie seller if you prefer, but you will pay as ,much if not more than a US seller incl postage.

Same seller. A couple of guys here seem to like dealing with this seller, Ive not done so myself.

plus one with Banggood.
they offer pretty good prices and if you’re happy to wait, they post discounts as well.
delivery time is approximately a month so that’s the catch. unless you want to pay more for shipping which they can do.

I find the NCR18650B pretty good and reasonable priced.
I have the NCR18650A and I read somewhere that they used Panasonic cells.

i find them a real bargain for the quality
you can get the Olight 3400mAh and those are really good branded quality cells also available on Banggood

I just received a credit from Fasttech after my batteries were rejected at the port. They are saying they can still send batteries by ship but delivery time is expected to be 6 to 8 weeks.

So its still hit and miss? I got two separate lots from FT, all close to the PP limit of 45 days (one by surface/sea, one by air), but they did get here. Delivery was in the last 5 weeks or so.

Cheers. Looks like going the banggood route. The lights that the cells will be use is not here yet…so dont mind the wait.

DSE at it again

Eneloops Rouge, $19.98… chocolate and UOMO too I hear.

Not sure if I missed it but MTN electronics can only send 4 batteries per order I think just in case you needed more. I currently have some coming from banggood and a lot coming from FT via surface. I figured if I was going to have to wait a while I might as well make a decent sized order.

Will probably order some from MTN in a couple of weeks but I think I have spent enough for this week!

I just picked up another 10 Blazars off Yass like an hour ago! Awesome feller, highly recommend paying a bit more and buying off him, and these ones also have the really good protection circuit and are 68mm long.

All my batteries have come from Illumn and I've never had any issues buying batteries from them. I just received 7 batteries (4x18650, 1x26650, 2x14500) in 2 weeks from the day of order. Their shipping prices have gone up but their product prices are good and I feel comfortable ordering from them knowing my stuff will show up!

Found these copper shims, almost perfect for our applications if you need to shim up your copper MCPCBS with another layer of copper. Relevant diameters are 20, 25, 30mm in .7 and 1mm thickness. They are under a $1 each although postage may kill it. Still beats cutting and filing which is tedious.

G’day gents, anyone looking for quality IMR cells will not be disappointed with supersports600 from ebay

Or the guys at esmoke
http://www.esmokestore.com.au/24-mod-batteries-rechargeable

Both have posted items out to me regularly and always at my door within 2 days.

Also Jaycar are starting to stock 18650 and 14500.
While expensive it’s a quick fix when you just have to have them that day.

Thanks Paul. Do you know of anyone selling LG D1 batteries? Cheap.

Supersports600 (Yass) is a great guy to deal with. I live near him so he let’s me pickup from his place and have a good old chat and he does good prices.

Waiting.

Good spot. Has he changed his post? I'm glad your still on the job whilst on holidays.

Wish I saw this sooner, just bought some 20mm square ones from Ebay. Bit cheaper, but like you said will require some filing to fit. Picked up 5 of the 0.5, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2mm so I can do some work on focusing dedomes. $3.50 shipping is good, might pick up some 1mm spacers for the Yezl.

Eneloop 8pk AA are $15 free delivery at DSE again. Soooo cheap but I still don’t have a use for them.
