Mobile Solar Power Bank

I was thinking of wiring it so it could be charged with a regular charger like the opus. Then it could trickle charge when your outside. Wouldnā€™t be bad if it was on a holster or something like that. Anyone use these and how long does it take to charge from drained to full?

The rating is bs. 384mA from that tiny panel? Not likely. 100mA would be surprising if it was pointed directly at the sun, and the output would be far less if it wasn't.

Ive had something like that, it didnt work very well, and went with a 10 watt pannel from fast tech, it works better

Thanksā€¦ I was thinking if it takes too long to charge- oh well

Way too small to put out much power for recharging the batteries plus good old Chinese specifications list the size of the panel as thicker than the packaged unit so far as I can determine. Does that mean they crush it prior to shipment? :open_mouth:

There is a way, more or less a very slow trickle charge

Texas Instruments has a IC that boosts the very low voltage up to charging levels in order to charge 4.2vdc Li Ion batterys, but it does it at very low currentsā€¦like 100-200mA at best

Sureā€¦setting it out you could trickle charge if you needed it but not fully charge the internal battery w/o external USB help, I donā€™t think something that size would be 5K mAh, more like 2000 maybe

adafruit has a charger somewhat like that, they have 6vdc panels as well

Still for under $20ā€¦get one and you tell us how well it works out
