C to D Size Battery Adapters Source? HELP!

I used to have some but i never used them so they went in the recycle bin years ago, i probably got them at dollar store or princess auto (harbour freight type store i think)

Wilson;

Yes looking for single D size adapters. The item you found is for high power LED converted Maglite lights or similar it looks like to me. Lights like Old Lumens makes.

Don’t see why one would want to put a smaller battery than the size of the space. Apparently there are even C and D Eneloops, though I don’t know where they can be found. My car uses a couple hundred D size nickel metal hydrides.

I have seen the D Eneloops on ebay, shipped from Japan, and they run about $50 each. One post on CPF IIRC showed the internals which were three AA Eneloops. Rather have Tenergy Centuras. Cheaper and greater capacity.

I would like to have the adapters so I can use C NiMH in D battery lights and lanterns if needed in an emergency or when want lower weight or battery cost, the same basic reasons why lots of people want to use single AA to D adapters in some applications. I get the impression that the C to D adapters were made at one time but may have been discontinued due to lack of demand. As a hobbyist machinist I can make a batch out of Delrin and copper rod if necessary but I thought that they should be available commercially somewhere.

I suspect those C and D eneloops are fakes, but this is what i used to have, in blue and green, they were hard plastic and were pretty brittle

I have never heard of this website but its the same adapters as i had, AAA to AA, AA to C and C to D

Try wrapping in foam. I have done that a few times in a jam. Or paper & duck tape.

Found out where I had seen them. LaCrosse Technology includes four of the AA to C and C to D adapters as pictured by Bort in post #6 with some of their NiMH battery chargers. Not listed as available separately that I can find.

I have a 3 C cell MagLite and do not want the batteries to corrode. It is next to my bed and almost never used. So to keep from potentially ruining the light due to leaking cells I got some AA to C adapters and put eneloops in it. Much cheaper than eneloop C cells even if available.
So the answer is cost.

Jerry

I used to see them a lot in discount & dollar stores. I bought a bunch, 2-pack of nested AA to C inside a C to D adapter (4-pieces) for $.79, so it could be used as a AA to D as well with both pieces. They must be in the house somewhere but where?

Hmm?

Cost versus capacity is one reason. The Tenergy Centura C size LSD batteries are actually cheaper than Eneloop high capacity batteries per battery for much greater capacity and current capability so if people use single AA to D adapters then why not C to D adapters.

I used to make the spacers from c cell to d flashlight by cutting a piece of plastic tubing I got at lowes for about $2 but ay tubing that fills the space between the battery and the light would work. even rolling a piece of toilet paper roll and scotch tape.

I just checked. LaCrosse Technology does include c-d adaptors in the charger kit. I never looked in the carry bag that came with the charger.

I am from ept-battery company ,a CHINESE nimh battery factory ,we are glad to send you more information for your reference .

Hello all,

I have 1000's of C to D adapters available. I am selling them on eBay. I would much rather sell them outside eBay because of the eBay and PayPal fees, which means the cost to you would be cheaper.

If interested, please contact me at: geovel56@yahoo.com

Battery Buddy™ product description and instructions are below:

The product is called “Battery Buddy™,” which adapts the size of ANY “AA” battery (heavy duty, alkaline, rechargeable, etc.) to a “C”and/or “D” size battery. Battery Buddy™ provides the convenience of buying/storing one size battery only, and NEVER worrying about what size battery your electronic devices require. In essence, with Battery Buddy™, you NEVER need to buy the much more expensive C and/or D batteries again!

1 package contains two (2) "AA" to "C" adapters and two (2) "C" to "D" adapters (total of 4 pieces)

Also available are: Box - contains 12 packages

Case - contains four (4) boxes (total of 48 packages)

1000+ packages are available.

Simple as 1, 2, 3

Battery Buddy™ has a 3-In-1 application:

  1. “AA” to “C”
  2. “AA” to “D” and
  3. “C” to “D”

The expected use duration of a “AA” battery is approximately one-fifth of a“D” size battery. The expected use duration of a “AA” battery is approximately one-third of a “C” size battery, however the cost of operating the same device using one "AA" battery vs. one “C”battery or "D" battery is substantial. This means YOU SAVE MONEY in addition to convenience!

Battery Buddy™ is ideal for use in electronic devices which require batteries such as:

  • Flashlights
  • Clocks
  • Toys
  • Portable Stereos/Radios
  • Small Appliances, and so much more!
  • Great in EMERGENCY situations – If the “C” or “D” batteries in a device (such as a flashlight) are “dead” simply use “AA” batteries from another device you have available which uses "AA" batteries, and Battery Buddy™ for “C” and/or “D” size battery required devices, OR “C” batteries from another device and Battery Buddy™ for devices which require “D” size batteries.
  • The uses are endless!

Instructions for using Battery Buddy™ are as simple as One, Two, Three!

3-in-1 uses

ONE

Wouldn’t we still be using Paypal? What is your eBay site?

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, you would still be using PayPal, but using the payment option of "sending money to a Friend or Family" is FREE for everyone involved vs. using PayPal to pay for an item option (then there is the PayPal fee).

Another FREE option if someone doesn't have a PayPal account, but they have a Chase Bank account, is Chase Quick Pay.

Each package contains 2 AA to C and 2 C to D (total of 4 pieces).
