I liked my first one so much, I immediately bought a second! The size and overall shape just fits the hand nicely, and with 3 18650’s the run time is superior with less sag when hot rodding. And, uh, well, they’re both hot rodded.
The e-switch is great with a reversing UI in a FET driver. This lets you go directly to Turbo or moon, as you wish. Love that!
I’ve got one with an XM-L2 de-domed and working far better than my 2 HD2010’s (369.25Kcd with an UCLp lens), the other has an MT-G2 utilizing 6 Efest Purple 18350’s. I limited that one to 3000 lumens in the firmware as it was wanting to make over 4000 at 100% and making more heat than I wanted in this light. I wasn’t feeling up to making a copper heat sink for it, so I used an ounce of silver instead. Works all right, would have preferred the copper with more mass.
I highly recommend this light. These immediately became personal favorites.
Just wanted to let you guys know what you can look for from mine- I’ll be designing new boards for mine to be a 3s buck driver using components from an HX-1175b. The driver/upper contact plate will be one board and then either mod the factory tail plate or make a new one for 3S. This will drive either a 3v or 6v emitter upwards of 8A via sense resistors and uses a surprisingly small number of components.
Change of plans, instead of stripping HX-1175b’s I’ll be designing a whole new driver based on the MAX16820 buck driver (an individual component). Spec’s are pretty awesome, 2Mhz switching, very high PWM in, should be pretty efficient especially when able to use a nice large board with large Cu pour for heat dissipation.
i cannot decide whether to buy this courui big head or the UF-1405(please don’t say buy both). which one gives more throw after modded (lets say dedomed, and driven @ same current)? anyone here has both and can give some numbers for comparison?
This is the DO1 with black anodizing. The original was grey I believe.
Amazon is the only place I could find it in stock today.
DX had them 2 days ago, but today the listing is gone.
I do not know if it is different inside.
Some sites show 1000ma driver, one shows 1800, most show no info.
I ordered one anyway. For the price it’s likely to be a good buy.
