HD2010 with Yezl extension for 2x26650 - PICs inside

Gearbest offers the Yezl Y3 extension seperately, and yes, it fits the usual HD 2010. Usual means: the ones with 31mm threads. There are HD2010 with 32mm threads and different pill threading on the market as well… chinese lottery at its best.

The threads of the extension are a good match, it screws without force on HD2010 body and tailcap. Only the red o-ring makes it slightly too tight, yet doable.
The threads of the Y3 seem to be longer, the 2010 body does not reach the bare part inside the extension to make electrical connection. I will have to remove the anodizing on the extension’s threads.
The extension tube is slightly more matte than the black Fasttech Fandyfire shown on the pictures.

HD2010 with two Y3 extensions for 4xC (alkalines).

The mine are from CNQG GB. They fit “as is”.
P.D.: The extensions came perfectly packed but with many scratches…

That…

is actually kinda cool. Though I can’t help but feel that the Y3 with its side switch is much more suited for these sorts of shenanagins. One extension on the HD2010 is a good idea if you can get a flexible enough driver for it. Or put a Zeiner-modded BLF-DD and a MT-G2 in there. It expands the possibilities sure. Now I wish I’d gotten in on the HD2010 group buy earlier this year.

Tangsfire HD2010 was $23 just a week or two ago @Tmart.

I did that on my Tangsfire HD2010 . The problem is that the batteries don't fit tight enough and if you shake it a little the modes change.

Is it safe to run 2x26650 on stock HD2010 drivers?

NO

Mmm, another Yezl Y3 extension tube related thread, nice.

I have an M31×1 threaded host which I'm sure could make use of those Y3 extensions but, so far, no one has been able to provide me comfirmation as to what is the thread pitch on them (seems 1mm to me). May someone shine some light?

Thanks.

Cheers ^:)

Confirmed.
It’s M31x1 on the Yezl extension (2 turns, 2mm) and on the HD2010 where it fits (5 turns, 5mm).

Thank thee, HarleyQuin.

I'll probably be getting one of those Y3 extension tubes (along with a LD-29S driver) once my economy gets healthier. :THUMBS-UP:

Cheers ^:)
