Is there anyone who has already bought iPhone 6?

Im using Samsung Galaxy 4 now. but I miss HTC Diamond with WM6.1 and 6.5.

My first smart phone in 2010. I had a lot of fun then.

IPhone 6 bends easily

IMHO the new Nexus 6 is where it is. S805, 5.2 IPS 2560 x 1440, 3GB ram, 13MP camera, HTC made, for around 450$, Android L (much faster then any OS ever) see ya Apple.

I have an upgrade with verizon next spring… I am looking at the nexus 6, galaxy s6, and note 4

all will be around $200ish with a contract

Apple is not about specs, it is about the experience. Had an Iphone 3g, switched to an Galaxy S2, back to Iphone 4s, now I have a Galaxy S4. Each OS has its good parts, ease of use certainly goes to Apple. I use Android mainly because I like to flash different roms and poke around under the hood.

I do the same. Galaxy s3 here.

Not hating on apple - droid does have problems too depending on the model, but there usually are workarounds and the phones are generally cheaper.

Eagerly waiting for my 6 Plus which goes for sale on Friday here on Finland.

You guys mocking the specs of the iPhone should check these benchmarks on Anandtech . Meagre dual core still beats the high end Android phones on browser tests and is on the same ballpark on the other tests. 1GB of ram is still a bummer though.

Apple is not my cup of tea. I’m currently using samsung galaxy note 2 but will upgrade to note 4 next month!

I had an Ipad 2 and 3 for a while - worked well and no issues - I prefer tinkering with my droid Nexus 7 though

I don’t get the “same spec as 2012” I have a Samsung note 2 for work and now a iphone 6plus for personal, the note still has “better spec” with its quad core but I can tell you it’s no where near as fast as the iPhone
I also have a lumia 1020 which despite its low spec still runs smoothly with a great camera , I came from a windows mobile background then into android with a HTC Sensation, the only thing sensational about that was the lag
I don’t want to start a “war ” here as I really don’t see the point of people argueing over which phone they like they all suit people differently

My experience of android wasn’t good so I’ll keep off it. In my job I do get to test quite a few handsets and the HTC One M8 is a good phone with great audio speakers the only thing comparable I have tested is the Blackberry Z30 which tbh I really like as a phone , different UI and quite nice all round

i’m still using my cheap huawei android device and very satisfied with it

I have a ZTE Engage smart phone which is just a single core cheap-o with vanilla Android 4.0 and I’ve been pretty happy with it. But all those generic Chinese phones are starting to look awesome. I’ve seen 8 core CPU, retina display, dual-sim fully loaded phones for about $150 that look like they blow away everything on the market.

I just upgraded the 7 inch tablet to an Asus Memo7 which has 4.4 kit kat and beats most of the T-mart tablets in that price range for value, so companies like Asus are trying to stay competitive with those cheap sites. I also got a dual core 7 inch tablet from Tmart for $38 and it’s fantastic. I just saw it at a4c.com for $34 though their version is only android 4.0 and mine from Tmart is 4.2.

So in the long run I’m not sure people are going to be using name brand phones in 10 years when you can buy them at the grocery store. I think all the name brands are over priced, with Apple being at the top of the over priced heap. Look at the specs and reviews of those generic phones and they look great.

I love to tinker. I had my first “professional” experience with Linux in ~1995 when I installed it on a cast-off 386 at work to serve as a BOOTP, DNS, SMTP and POP server when I got my employer on the Internet. I’ve been running it, professionally and personally ever since. For the last 4-5 years I’ve been running a small fleet of home servers based on Marvel Kirkwood devices “hacked” to run Debian.

When it comes to my phone, and my main computer, I pretty much don’t want to do any of that. I want good stuff that just works. Apple has been delivering that to me for years. Apple has never been (just) about the specs. It is about the whole being greater than the sum of the parts, and with Apple, that starts before you buy your first Apple device, and ends, well, maybe never. That said, no other phone touches the performance of the iPhone 6’s A8 SoC, or the iPhone 5s’ A7, for that matter (unless you are running the rare mobile app that can make good use of more than two cores).

That said, I’m kind of regretting keeping my iPhone 4s for a 3rd year, and not just because I didn’t bother switching to a non-contract plan — I ordered an iPhone 6, and I’m sure I’m going to be quite happy with it (provided it doesn’t bend in my pocket), and I wouldn’t buy a 5s at this point. If I’d bought one last year though, I’d be happy right now to let Apple figure out if everyone really wants a larger iPhone (clearly some do).

I’m still waiting for my order to be delivered. In the meantime, I got my hands on the new iPhones recently. The 6plus is ridiculously huge. I can’t imagine buying one unless I always carried it in a bag, a jacket, or cargo pants. The regular 6 is more manageable, but still a bit larger than I’d like.

I have been thinking about getting a cheap android tablet, or phone, you know, to tinker with.

my family is split over them my son’s love their I phone 5 and my wife daughter and I love our Samsung s5s to death!

BEST PART IS YOU CAN CHARGE IT WIRELESSLY USING MICROWAVE TECHNOLOGY! Pop it in any microwave for 30 seconds and it will fully charge your battery! INSANE! #appleisgod #crazytechnology

I'm an Apple fan and have a couple of Macs, but the new iPhone is too expensive and not durable. I'll stick with my DURABLE Samsung flip phone thanks. (and my low monthly bills)

That’s a good point about phones getting too big. They are calling them ‘phablets’ now because phones are basically tablets. I’ve been thinking about my next phone just being an upgrade to my 7 inch tablet and using my next tablet as my next phone, too. With a bluetooth headset and maybe a bluetooth watch, there probably won’t be any reason for the phablet to come out of my pocket/bag/car for phone calls.

I’m looking to start writing some Android apps so I’ve been buying an handling lots of different form factors, and I think for pretty much everything, 7 inches is the sweet spot for me. The kids use nothing but their phones, but my 4 inch phone is too small for my old eyes, and even 5 inches would probably be too small for checking email and stuff.

My 10 inch Acer Iconia is too heavy to use as a book reader. I own netbooks and laptops as well. It’s been a Goldilocks type quest to find the best devices for me personally and I just love those 7 inch multi-core tablets. Even the wife’s brand new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is too bulky for me, and it’s super-thin.

EDIT: Any second the UPS truck will be here with my 7 inch, 4 core Intel quad core Asus. The thing is totally awesome for 129 bucks. It’s got bluetooth 4, GPS, TF card slot, the works. I think the resolution is 1280x800 which is pretty incredible for the price point.

There are plenty of good arguments for buying Apple over Android. Some people don’t want to have to be a computer programmer just to make a phone call, and some people relish in all the geeky details. That’s the beauty of capitalism
