Personally, I’m waiting for the release of the to-be-very-much-coveted 105 x xm-l T6 cannon that promises 168,000 lumens and uses 20 x 26650s. Included in the price will be a forklift to carry it around (hopefully).

False advertising is false advertising, this I don’t agree with.
That said, in anybody’s book, 3000+ lumens is still a lot of light. So ok, this might not be the most compact way to achieve it. But it does probably offer good runtime (and likely regulation) and manageable heat vs the price.

Anyway this is exactly what I predicted in last year when the 18 XM-L one first came out. I knew it will come out!
So at the same time I am also going to make another prediction here - 24 XM-L to be next!! J)

But if they push it even further, I’d hate to have to hold a 24x XM-L with 6x 26650’s. I think it would resemble more a baseball bat than a flashlight…LOL.
This and lights like them would be just so much more appealing to me if they took 18650’s in a 3P3S configuration. Most XM-L lights usually have approximately 1 cell per LED. This one has almost 6 LED’s per cell. No future practical potential other than as it is, modest output and short runtime.

IMO a tail switch on these monsters is ridiculous. Try to hold it one handed and operate a tail switch with the thumb of the hand holding it. I note though that the actual sellers info on the lights list 3800 Lumens for the AliExpress listed one and 5200 for the other (DX Kinfire one) which is close to honest advertising by typical Chinese seller standards. BTW does the name Kinfire mean that it burns up all of your kinfolks?
Note that the AliExpress one states that the price is negotiable for large orders. Start negotiating! The Kinfire is listed as 30.26 ounces. Light weight as my new TrustFire TR-S700 with only 7 LEDs weighs in at about 54 ounces with three 26650 batteries.

I have the 18x xml version (first real light after the 3x xml) and i dont like it that much… its very underdriven since to my eye it is just as bright as my new fenix tk75 xml2. It can be used as a besball bat though. If someone wants it to make a crazy mod just pm me
