21X CREE XML T6 25000LM Flashlight Just When We Thought 18X was Enough

They are better at centering 21 emitters than me at only 6!!!

Haha

Richie you beat me to it. I just saw this Kinfire 21 XM-L in DX and I thought I wanted to share it here lol.

Anyway this is exactly what I predicted in last year when the 18 XM-L one first came out. I knew it will come out!

So at the same time I am also going to make another prediction here - 24 XM-L to be next!! J)

This would be great if you add a big fan and push the current to 2A per emmiter!

Hey Bibihang, great minds think alike.

But if they push it even further, I’d hate to have to hold a 24x XM-L with 6x 26650’s. I think it would resemble more a baseball bat than a flashlight…LOL.

This and lights like them would be just so much more appealing to me if they took 18650’s in a 3P3S configuration. Most XM-L lights usually have approximately 1 cell per LED. This one has almost 6 LED’s per cell. No future practical potential other than as it is, modest output and short runtime.

BOOM

Bigger is better
More (LEDs) is better!!

LOL this is getting crazy. Guess what while they keep increasing the length and the numbers of emitter they are still using tail switch. |(

IMO a tail switch on these monsters is ridiculous. Try to hold it one handed and operate a tail switch with the thumb of the hand holding it. I note though that the actual sellers info on the lights list 3800 Lumens for the AliExpress listed one and 5200 for the other (DX Kinfire one) which is close to honest advertising by typical Chinese seller standards. BTW does the name Kinfire mean that it burns up all of your kinfolks?

Note that the AliExpress one states that the price is negotiable for large orders. Start negotiating! The Kinfire is listed as 30.26 ounces. Light weight as my new TrustFire TR-S700 with only 7 LEDs weighs in at about 54 ounces with three 26650 batteries.

Hi all,

I have the 18x xml version (first real light after the 3x xml) and i dont like it that much… its very underdriven since to my eye it is just as bright as my new fenix tk75 xml2. It can be used as a besball bat though. If someone wants it to make a crazy mod just pm me

Greetz

Sure they do, it’s one of the four cow stomachs. I bet that they have about 1000 ways to cook it.

It says you can’t put it in water… so how do I unclog my toilet with it then?

i’ll raise you one roll of duct tape, it has at least 1001 uses

Did you know the hydrogen bags in the WWI German Zeppelins were made out of the linings of 250,000 cow appendixes?

i have never heard that, but two questions remain unanswered, would duct tape have lower or higher density then what they used, and second, will it blend

That’s what I’m thinking too.

My TrustFire X-100 (7x XM-L) reads 2.24 Amps at the tail cap when using 4x 26650 King Kongs with total voltage of 15.97 volts (35.8 watts). If my calculations are not wrong, that would get me a computed OTF of 3391 lumens at 484 lumens per emitter.

If I can use the X-100 driver for this 21x XM-L and all other things (current, voltage, etc.) remain constant then theoritically (I’ve not tried it yet) the computed OTF would be 4221 lumens at 201 lumens per emitter. Brighter than the X-100 but obviously not 25000 lumens. :~

I used the Cree LED Output Calculator uploaded by Sixty545 in September 2012.

Not meaning to sound offensive, but is it not somewhat ridiculous for any person to expect to hold such a light as this one handed anyway?

Many incan halogen ‘lanterns’ with the large reflectors required two hands to hold and turn it on, this is no different.

My UniqueFire UF-T09 9X CREE XM-L is a 3x 26650 only light. But I can tell you once you use one of these longer lights with a side switch, as the UniqueFire has, you’ll never want to use one without it. It’s the reason I actually considered one of the variant 18x cree lights due to one version actually having a side switch. But I knew if would be very underpowered, and I didn’t feel the need to carry a 4x 26650 light.

One reason I bought the TrustFire TR-S700 which is a lot heavier than this is the format which is soupcan style but HUGE and with a handle that contains the switch and integral output adjustment which makes for easy one hand operation, so it can be done with thoughtful design. Expensive but actually a practical light.
