trying to consolidate all ZeusRay posts

Yes, it’s the same I found tonight, but the shipping cost (for Italy) are too expensive…

The specific risks involving Li-ion IN SERIES are much greater than the typical risks associated with Li-ion in general. Mainly the cells in series MUST be perfectly matched- both current charge state as well as capacity, as little as 100mAh difference could cause a “vent with flame” (the industry term for an explosion) and the stated capacity of a cheap chineese dealer can not be trusted, you never know what your getting from them as they often rewrap recycled cells.

If you don’t own equipment to test the individual capacities of each cell you plan to use in series the only option is to source your cells from 100% stand up vendors so you know you’re getting new genuine cells. You should make sure you’re using matched pairs, even of the same exact brand / type of cell that may have different numbers of charge cycles or be in different conditions, especially when wearing them on your head!

Recived any new PMs from Vince other than thanks, he explained quite candidately that he know nothing about lights and asked if brighter is better or less bright on top of that were fighting a the language barrier.Just an update I haven’t blown of this post just no new developments.

Flat bezel spotted.

Hi Freeme, do you think it is the same light? With solid pill/xml2/same range of lumens/etc etc?

I don't think so... Only ZeusRay branded, only from the one source of DealMetic.com. freeme - you got a link? Also note the design of most of these SK73 clones is different than the ZeusRay - the ZeusRay has a wider flood mode due to it's closer position of the lens to the LED. I sanded down the crenelation of the bezel on my ZeusRay.

I got my first batch of XM-L2 U3 1A's from Hank at IOS, and replaced the XM-L2 U2 1A I had in the ZeusRay last night. Results are outstanding.

With a fresh Samsung 25R, build is Nanjg with 11 7135's, total of 3.85A, XM-L2 U3 1A on Noctigon, screwed down to pill, 22 AWG wires, replaced the tail switch with an Omten, wired both springs:

3.92A tail reading, lumens (full flood): 1,370 @start, 1,306 @30 secs, throw (zoomed out): 21 kcd (measured at 5 m)

This is the best #'s I've gotten from any zoomie, and it's a 21% boost from the XM-L2 U2 1A I had in there, but, that XM-L2 U2 1A may have been suspect since it had something wrong with the dye (doggie icon showed in zoomed out beam pattern).

Edit: It was just noticed the U3 1A silicone dome touch's the lens at full flood position, just barely. Don't think it's a problem - the silicone softens up when heated with the LED on. Just a matter how hot it gets and if long runtimes in hi will cause damage to the lens. I could pop off the MCPCB and sand it down a little - it's at about 1.53 mm now at the pads, about 1.50 mm where there's no tracing or pads.

Here you go :)

Not the same. Unless you do not mind hollow pill with XM-L T6.

Funny, the AliExpress listing says: Crenellated strike bezel for enhanced self-defense

Guys, can you give me some advices?
I’m not a really fans of zoomie light…I got an Ultrafire Z5 clone, 2x 18650, about 600/700 real lumens (they sell for 1600  ) when use 2 good cells like Eagletac…Z5 Trustfire very good flood and nice throw (I have paid it only 9$ shipped)

…and I know that we are talking just about 7,99$ shippend, and seem they are bucks well spend…but, I got to buy others light (my list is long  ), and maybe this Zeusray it’s just a copy of Z5 ( just a little more lumens and only 1x18650), and at the moment can save 7,99$ for something else.

What do you think about?

Get a Zeusray, you really can’t go wrong. You will probably prefer it over your Z5, as it will be twice as bright, half the weight, and you will begin to feel like Zeus himself once you use it.

Also it works great attached to a hat using the included clip. For me this is the best feature, and it is secure enough for walking jogging or biking.

3 weeks have gone but my 2nd batch has not arrived yet. First batch only took 9 days. Their back-order is now at -48.

Nice idea, but seems a bit heavy on the front.

The number isn’t quite realistic. I order when the back-order number is about –7, but the item arrive just around same time as first batch. THEN the back-order number still same.

Order another unit, haven’t arrive (longer period than last time, forgot what no. am I in the queue though) it aren’t that bad as it seems.

I went into detail with Vince @ Dealmetic did he ever get back to you at about the quality issues you had with your ZeusRay?

nothing for me at my side, no email, no inbox, no pm. Hope they will quietly put a replacement bezel in my order, hehe.

Good to know that they are coming out with new model soon. Please tell Vince to continue to produce more Zeusray zoomies.

I ordered one on the 26th Sep. Didn’t hear anything and not received anything. I emailed Dealmatic on the 9th Oct, this was their reply:

Hoping it’s now shipped, but I didn’t pay for a tracking number, so have no idea. I also did the express checkout via PayPal. Thought I’d get a confirmation email, but no, only PayPals.

Hope the light turns up, else it’ll have to be a PayPal claim. Happy to give it a few more weeks yet though.

There is one more factor contributing to delay:
Custom Delay

Dealmetic shows four lights in stock now and the sidebar on the main page no longer says it’s back-ordered.
Checking my order status, that still shows it back-ordered.
I emailed to ask about shipping my order — order was placed Sept. 17th.

I’d buy more, if I knew they were shipping and shipping good quality stock at this point.
