(Closed)-Group Buy-BLF Edition,Lumintop SD10.

Reverse polarity protection should be added, else the driver is fried with wrong insertion of batteries, which is what often happens with current version

The moon must be just a few mA, 3mA at the most

Also it would be great if the mcu would be tiny 13a so that we can mod the code.

Will the reflector be SMO or OP?

I want at least 50% efficiency on the 3mA, otherwise what is the point.

It is funny that everytime when there is a GB/custom light offer it always start a new debate on the driver modes, choice of tint… blah blah blah.

Why don’t we just follow the specification below,

Quoted from the BLF X6 GB (kronological’s thread, with minor edit), which has came to an agreement by most people. Maybe there are certain things we cannot follow exactly but this is a good reference anyway.

In the future whenever there is a GB for custom light we can always refer to this.

interested

If the driver is modified for reverse polarity protection and the GB version is updated with an XM-L2 NW, I’d be in for one. Otherwise I’ll have to pass on it.

I see your point, but not sure I agree.

For example, this Lumintop SD10 uses an electronic side switch and has a wide range of battery options. Something the X6 does neither of.

I also think it is unlikely that every/any group buy/manufacturer will want to adhere to the same specs and demands.

And frankly, I really don’t want the same light, with the same tint, the same modes and the same output just a different shape. I want different lights because they aren’t the same as other ones. :stuck_out_tongue:

+1
I have mine with fried driver for this cause

Me too, please. NW option.

I think you’ve got the right idea there. Obviously (from the popularity of the BLF X6) these specs are “good” for a very large portion of the BLF community. I would add one thought, however. I think most of us would get bored if every light had these exact specs. It would be cool to have things narrowed down to a few choices for the GB organizers to choose from, not just one choice that stays the same and only the host is different. Maybe there could be two or three different mode groups, two or three lens/reflector choices, three or four power ranges, a few different battery configs, etc. The person or company doing the customizing could select from the narrow field of choices to make a light they would be guaranteed to get at least dozens of people interested in. I’m not always going to be in the market for a light like the custom X6 we’re getting. I sometimes want a more subdued max output, or a tighter hotspot or wider flood or smaller host, etc. depending on the purpose of the light.

In order that this thread doesn’t just become wishful thinking, can we get some feedback about what is the manufacturer / seller willing to customize/fix?

True, Rey never mentioned any custom programming as of now - just group buy on this stock light (with possible lettering).

Let him clarify this before starting mode requests.

I happen to be told that Lumintop has high MOQ, so a certain quantity may be needed to get any custom program. Just my thoughts.

So what exactly makes this a BLF light?

With a lithium ion battery? I forgot that the SD10 low mode output is different for each battery type. I think BLF A8 was 0.5lm, but 0.8lm is still acceptable. At least that’s a HUGE improvement to the 10 lumens the regular SD10 has with a lithium ion battery. I’m definitely in for 0.8lm.

Please add me to the list, and we’ll see how the final specs. work out.

Thanks!

I’m very interested! too tempting to avoid it… add me!

What does the 3aa battery carrier look like, is it the same one as in the linked review?

I really don't get why the NW can't be a second gen emitter. No excuse for only having a first gen XM-L in NW :(

That is a good price for a Lumintop. I won’t be in on this because I already have a couple of one’s somewhat like this. The one thing I really like about mine are that they have the reverse clip on them so I can snap them on a ball cap.

An added clip would be nice.

They are not a really mod friendly light but they are well put together, solid and lot’s of thought Put into the engineering of the light. (possibly a little over-engineered) but with all this put into it it’s not a light that needs to be modded.

Good luck with the sales and thanks for offering a top quality light for a really good price.

add me to the list por favor.

logo available, still thinking about it.
