Damn the tint on the 700 is a lot nicer. Seem like it throws quite a bit more too while having about the same amount of flood.

measured 3500 lumen OTF :slight_smile:

Alex, Trustfire rates the S700 as IP VI or IP X6, Protected against heavy jet spray for at least 3 minutes.

JohnnyMac measured exactly 3578 lumens OTF for the XM-L T6 version with his Calibrated Integrated Sphere. If you’re getting 3500 lumens, whether OTF or gross lumens, I’m still happy with that, especially since it’ll maintain close to that even on HIGH mode. Thanks for the information.

i measured 3578 otf at turn on and 3490 @ 30 seconds on kinoko imr 26650…. lowest output setting is around 0.25 lumen :slight_smile:

I think JM has the cool white xml and we have nw xml2 which is why they are about the same

Does your S700 go into strobe mode when the slide switch is pushed all the way forward?

I dont think so? Ill have to double check when I get home.

one thing it does do which is rather annoying - if you leave it tailstanding on a very low mode for 10-15 minutes, it bumps up in output to like 150 lumens for no reason…. did it 3 times last night.

I’ll check mine and see if it does the same thing.

I had the lens off to check the diameter and thickness in case I come across an AR coated lens for this.

After I reassembled it, I installed the KeepPower Protected 26650 5200mAh cells and adjusted it to the lowest firefly mode. It stayed on for 4-5 minutes and turned off. Although the battery compartment fully closes with these longer cells, I do know from experience, longer cells can cause issues crushing internal components to much.

I removed the batteries, used a lint-free cloth with a bit of alcohol and cleaned off the “B” side of the driver. This time I installed the KeepPower UNprotected IMR26650 cells and turned it back on to firefly mode. It’s been running for 20 minutes putting out much less light than a single birthday candle and seems perfect.

Brightness seems perfectly consistant, whether anything I mention here actually had anything to do with it not suddenly turning off now, I’m not sure.

I will mention from a previous post from Member, Richwouldnt, to get the slide switch adjusted to the lowest firefly mode can be slightly tricky, and he was correct.

agreed about the lowest mode(s) being tricky… the slider goes from like…. nothing…… click for on… still nothing… move it 1mm… hey! 400 lumens! LOL… takes some finesse but its there.

I have some unprotected keep power 26650 im going to try as well…. been using the kinoko imr 4000mah and the included TF cells so far… im glad i didnt bother with protected keep power…. theyre too big for anything it seems

One silly question for everyone. Why is this about the only light from a “budget” Chinese maker that seems to have a reasonably accurate Lumens out specification? Based on measurements the actual OTF lumens are within 10% of what members are measuring real life. If they can do it for this one, and actually did so, why the ridiculous outputs listed for other lights like the TR-J20 and virtually every other light that TrustFire makes? Is this light made primarily for the Chinese military or government and they require accurate specifications?

I would like to see Trustfire become the first large budget manufacturer in China to list accurate specifications for ALL their products.

Last night, Ms. Pinky Cao, the Trustfire Rep I was dealing with, contacted me to confirm the S700 was delivered in a safe manor and if I was happy with the light. In fact, she assured me prior to the sale, Trustfire would build me an excellent light exactly as I ordered it, and it would be perfect. Well, true to her word for sure.

You have great communication skills. If I were you, perhaps you might email her directly, and perhaps, she may be able to pass on to her superiors the industry really needs to change with respect to your questions above. Just a thought.

There isn't really direct competition for this light, so maybe they realized they could be honest and not lose sales to the competition. What would the competition be? I think it would be halfway between the Supbeam X40 and X60.

I’m loving this light the more I use it. It easily runs and works on HIGH mode even with just one 26650 cell in it thanks to its parallel battery arraingement. There is no difference in brightness that I can see, visually, whether using 1 or 3 cells. All the cells fully equalize, just like a Skyray King does, as long as the battery compartment is in full contact and not locked out.

I haven’t been able to get a tailcap current reading for some reason. I was able to accomplish it on the SkyRay King, but for some reason, it wouldn’t work on this one. I’m curious to know, depending on the type of cells used, if it really operates at 10 amps, more or less, on HIGH mode.

Looks like a nice light with nice tint, I’m also kind of surprised they didn’t say it was 8,000 lumens or something around there. But they also charge significantly more for this light, you paid $170 right? Maybe this light was built for a company in the US or Europe somewhere, which required accurate specifications and a sturdy light, and this “line” is the result.

I paid just under $120 from FastTech including shipping with the BLF discount. Another member paid the $170 direct from TrustFire including warmer XM-L2 LED upgrades and DHL shipping as I recall. Mine is with RMM currently for similar work including copper Noctigons and anything else he can figure out to try to SAFELY up the output and improve thermal transfer.

BTW it is heavy enough and feels rugged enough to make one heck of a skull cracker if necessary. the TR-J20 would have the advantage of a longer reach but both could be hellacious skull crackers if required.
