Advice on the best 26650 cells

Hello

Can i trust this KeepPower 5200mAh 26650 from Gearbest ?

have any one tried it before ?

and is it the same as the one from illumn ?

I can’t answer your question, but just make sure they are not to long to fit in the light you’re going to use them in.

i dont have any 26650 from KP but i have their 18650, 14500, 16340 and they all functions very well, i guess its okay to give it a try

I think there’s a review on those batteries seen. Not sure if gearbest sells fake ones though xd It’s funny when you have to weed fake from real. Trustfire has this holo sticker but I doubt that means anything. The Trustfire 5200 I tried off amazon has a lot of voltage sag and weren’t even 5k mah. It had holo stickers.

I’m using KeepPower 5200 mah 26650 for most of my 26650 lights, and KingKong 5000 mah 26700’s for the rest. KeepPowers are great until about 4 amps then its slightly high internal resistance gives way to the KingKong 26700’s in performance.

I use Xtar 26650/4000mAh or KingKong INR26650E, Xtar is better than KK.

KingKong 26700 5000mah are the best of both worlds. Offering great capacity (often over 5200mah) and offering the same great performance as the kingkong 26650.

Just make sure that they will fit first before buying.

The problem is that fitment can be difficult to ascertain before having the battery in your hands. Few manufacturers actually list maximum battery length. And even if a cell appears to fit, it can still cause damage due to excessive spring pressure or even spring bind. Generally speaking, your best bets are going to be lights without tailcap lockout. This way, you don’t need to close the tailcap completely, and can accommodate the extra battery length by leaving the tailcap about 5mm open. But for other lights, you might just need to buy one cell to try it out. For the record, these cells are 70.6mm long vs 65.4mm for the King Kong 26650.

Of course, if these batteries DO fit, they are a good choice. Much like the 4000mAH King Kong 26650, capacity is underrated on these batteries. In fact, I get slightly MORE runtime with these batteries than I do with the Keeppower 5200s!

What light are you using these 26650s in and what is the load that the light presents? We need to know this to recommend something.

I’ve got a DQG TinyTriple and went with the Efest IMR 3500s because they handle the light’s 6A+ load a little easier than some of the other high capacity lithium-cobalt 26650s out there.

Always match the cell to the load.

Then again, 6A is not too large of a load for most any 26650 out there. The Keeppower 5200 may not be the best choice out there, but it can certainly handle a 6A load. The Efest may handle the load with less sag, but capacity will be ALOT lower. Another good choice is the King Kong. Either the 4000mAH 26650 or the 5000mAH 26700 will handle a 6A load with less sag than the Keeppower 5200 despite being pure ICR cells. And both of the King Kongs are underrated in terms of capacity, having about 4300mAH and 5300mAH, respectively.
