UPDATE! Do you remember when I went postal about dealers lying and everyone thought I was too extreme?

Do you want to hear the latest? Bella had sent me an e-mail giving the code and she said to start it "tomorrow". OK, so I get it after 01:00, so is that tomorrow? So, I go ahead and try the code and it works fine. Well, OK! I post it.

So now I get an e-mail from Dora and it says this "Oh, I missed your former email this morning about the code posting

What I worried that is Olight notice our gb for the low price, and they won't deliver the rest stock to us
But it is said that the rest stock will be arrived at our warehouse tomorrow, let's wait and see!"

NOW, am I CRAZY or was the truth hidden from me to begin with?? Why not say Olight does not want the lights sold for the discounted price? Why wait Once Again, for the MAP Police!!! Why??????

HUH? and people were so upset when I told them these dealers were dishonest, deceitful people, (ALL of Them), and held information back from us. Why not state up front about this when I asked before hand, in the very first e-mail. "or will Olight come back on you because of MAP?" I asked before and she didn't say a word till I posted the code "too soon"?

SO, some of you may not get your lights, if Olight did not send the stock and I am in the middle again. I should have known, I should have listened to myself, but I didn't. My apologies. These people just don't have any concern for anything except the dollar, no unless, like in some other countries, lying is something that is tradition and something to be proud of.

I ordered my brown one and got this confirmation.

“Thank you for your recent back order with GearBest.com.
What happens next
Once the item arrives in our warehouse at the end of the back order period, we will process your authorized payment. When this is complete, the item will be dispatched within 3-5 business days to the shipping address you provided using the shipping method you selected.”

I hope this doesn’t mean what it looks like it means.
I’ve never gotten that message before.
Plus Paypal says I’ve already paid?

My order was placed last night within less than an hour after OL posting the sale as open so hopefully I will get items which were in stock at GearBest. If I have difficulties they will have lost me as a customer. I have had minimal problems with my orders placed with FastTech and this is my first order with GearBest. If they mess up then they will be renamed GearWorst in my notebook. My order confirmation did not mention back ordered any where and said the following:

“Thank you for your recent order with GearBest.com

We are delighted to inform you that we have received your payment for order XXXXXX and will process your order immediately.

What happens next
Once we have carefully prepared and packaged your order, it will be dispatched to the shipping address you provided using the shipping method you selected.
If you have selected Expedited Shipping with a courier or Standard Shipping, then a tracking number will be provided so you can track and monitor your package online. There may be a slight delay before the tracking number becomes active or when the courier updates.”

I ordered a blue one this morning, received the same order confirmation as Richwouldnt did. no mention of backorder anywhere

I, too, ordered a blue one this morning and it was my first direct order from GearBest so I had to sign up to be able to log in.

They sent the order confirmation and a second email confirming payment, same as above. What does all this mean? They had some in stock and shipped those, but are having to wait for some to come from O-Light to fill the GB order? And I am wondering why O-Light would care about MAP on an item that is discontinued?

Hey OL, I just saw the update. If my order doesn’t go through, don’t worry about it. You shouldn’t be held accountable for the actions of dishonest sellers. As always, thanks for organizing this GB. Cheers.

I also wonder why the vendor doesn’t just lie to the Manufacurer about what they sold the product for as easily as they lie to us? Hmmmm….

DBCstm; This GB is open with the code listed for all to see so the Manufacturer or a competitive seller can readily start a purchase and see the shipped price being offered.

Don’t be too stress O-L, relax…… I believe none will blame you here if they cancel it.
Btw, I’ve seen GB listing around USD 31 before adjust it again, not too far from current price, also multiple listing in eBay before that sold less than that :slight_smile: I think they will make it up.

Ok Rich, I can see that, but after our GB they won’t have but a few left anyway, so why worry about MAP? If anything, those purchased in this group buy might actually help them sell out the rest of their inventory.

Yes, they had a few, but had to get the rest from Olight, which should have come in a day, so they wanted to play hide and seek, so Olight would have already sent the items and then they couldn’t do much. It’s a game they play and I HATE games. I HATE, HATE, HATE head games.

Did I say I don't like game playing with people? I think I said that I HATE them.

I am taking it too hard, I know that, but I don't really give a rat's ass. I specifically asked about MAP and pricing, if there were any problem before hand, becasue I would not have done this GB. And they Knew that, so they didn't tell me. This is something that is seen as no big deal in China?, it's just normal business practices, I am sure, but for me, it's deceitful and borders on outright lies. That is how I feel about it and right or wrong, I will stick to by beliefs. I have stuck to them all these years, I ain't gonna change now and all this is just too "behind your back" kind of thing. I am sure, from responses that I get from Chinese sellers, that this is normal and to them it's not any issue at all. So it's just how I feel and that's the real problem with people, we all believe differently and we all believe we are right. That's why nothing ever works out, unless you are willing to have no values of beliefs. Then you can "compromise all day long".

I am sure it's no big deal for a lot of people, so it's just my rant, but then again, it's my thread.

So some (maybe a few) got email saying that their order is being processed, but some others (like me) got emails saying that the order “will process at the end of the back order period” :(?

I understand your frustration O-L.
It’s just a shame these sellers don’t think about the long term consequences of their actions.
MAP is an idiotic thing but it’s there and when you ask about it and they refuse to answer in an attempt to create more sales you’re just messing with your customers.

If this groupbuy fails to succeed my suggestion would be a sitewide boycott.
I’ve seen a lot of groupbuys coming from gearbest and I have joined a couple so I assume they get a decent amount of sales through BLF.

If this is their way to thank us, let’s boycott them. Don’t know if the admin would be willing to help with this and install a filter or something, but let’s hit them where it hurts and reduce their sales

And yes, that means we might miss out on some great deals, but let’s hit these sellers where it hurts.

For the rest, none other than respect for you O-L. Nobody in their right mind would blame you for this and I assume everybody is more than thankful you throw yourself out there trying to get some great deal for us. And I would say, don’t give up on it! Although I understand it get’s frustrating if they fail time after time, just leave the dishonest ones and go for the honest ones. Although that might be a hard find

Not your fault O-L, we all appreciate the work you put into these deals.
This is order # 8 from Gearbest from me.
Two were cancelled by GB and the rest all took over 30 days.
I think I’m done with them if GB doesn’t come thru on this one.

If this GB fails, I will never buy from GB again. Theres plenty of other places to spend money.

I had to sign up with them to order this. From the looks of things, I’ll be deleting that account.
