GB for the "discontinued" Olight O'pen

Yes, they had a few, but had to get the rest from Olight, which should have come in a day, so they wanted to play hide and seek, so Olight would have already sent the items and then they couldn’t do much. It’s a game they play and I HATE games. I HATE, HATE, HATE head games.

Did I say I don't like game playing with people? I think I said that I HATE them.

I am taking it too hard, I know that, but I don't really give a rat's ass. I specifically asked about MAP and pricing, if there were any problem before hand, becasue I would not have done this GB. And they Knew that, so they didn't tell me. This is something that is seen as no big deal in China?, it's just normal business practices, I am sure, but for me, it's deceitful and borders on outright lies. That is how I feel about it and right or wrong, I will stick to by beliefs. I have stuck to them all these years, I ain't gonna change now and all this is just too "behind your back" kind of thing. I am sure, from responses that I get from Chinese sellers, that this is normal and to them it's not any issue at all. So it's just how I feel and that's the real problem with people, we all believe differently and we all believe we are right. That's why nothing ever works out, unless you are willing to have no values of beliefs. Then you can "compromise all day long".

I am sure it's no big deal for a lot of people, so it's just my rant, but then again, it's my thread.

So some (maybe a few) got email saying that their order is being processed, but some others (like me) got emails saying that the order “will process at the end of the back order period” :(?

I understand your frustration O-L.
It’s just a shame these sellers don’t think about the long term consequences of their actions.
MAP is an idiotic thing but it’s there and when you ask about it and they refuse to answer in an attempt to create more sales you’re just messing with your customers.

If this groupbuy fails to succeed my suggestion would be a sitewide boycott.
I’ve seen a lot of groupbuys coming from gearbest and I have joined a couple so I assume they get a decent amount of sales through BLF.

If this is their way to thank us, let’s boycott them. Don’t know if the admin would be willing to help with this and install a filter or something, but let’s hit them where it hurts and reduce their sales

And yes, that means we might miss out on some great deals, but let’s hit these sellers where it hurts.

For the rest, none other than respect for you O-L. Nobody in their right mind would blame you for this and I assume everybody is more than thankful you throw yourself out there trying to get some great deal for us. And I would say, don’t give up on it! Although I understand it get’s frustrating if they fail time after time, just leave the dishonest ones and go for the honest ones. Although that might be a hard find

This is order # 8 from Gearbest from me.
Two were cancelled by GB and the rest all took over 30 days.
I think I’m done with them if GB doesn’t come thru on this one.

If this GB fails, I will never buy from GB again. Theres plenty of other places to spend money.

I had to sign up with them to order this. From the looks of things, I’ll be deleting that account.

Well, this is just swell, I was eyeballing o’pen for months :expressionless:
I check the thread, no code yet, go to work, got back from work and what do I see >)
We all know how GBest works so I am actually not pissed at them, it was expected behaviour from them, actually, that is reasonable business behaviour from any company this days, everyone will tend to first secure the $ from buyers and then order the products from manufacturer, noone wants to invest their own money, noone wants to risk getting 50 or 100 pcs of brand name (same as “not cheap”) product and then selling 1/2 the stock although many people pledged to buy because, guess what, not all of them will buy, someone will pull the plug in the last minute, and you end up with a bunch of products that are not easy to sell (=shot in the foot that all wants to avoid)…
But you just had to do it publicly, you know that all those seacret “private messaging” group buys are not invented just for fun and spamming purposes, I know that you know that answering 100+ PM in a day or 2 is no fun at all but it’s the only way this things can work…

Wrong, it works, you just have to predict all that is lurking behind all dark corners you came across the was, you don’t have to sacrifice anything, just be ready…

why should they, yesterday it was wallbuys, today it is gb, tomorrow it will be bestbuysbang or whatever, same people, same suppliers, same politics just different name in the offices across the street (from previous business). It’s just how this things work, you can hate it, boycott it, pull all hairs from your head it just won’t go away, only thing you can do is to adapt, predict, be smarter be ready…

Not justifying anyone but to my knowledge, main purpose of group buy is to attract more people to the store, most times it’s not the “profit” (I doubt that Tmart had any profit with HD2010 fiasco, when they had to send 2 lights for the discounted price of one), sometimes profit can be almost not worth the trouble but they are not on loss either so why not try to attract new buyers, some of them will buy, with groupbuy product, some other product/s, some of them will return later and buy something that makes $, they will add new registered members, word about the store will spread, more people will click on their banner. New people without personal experience (read: was not burned) will tend to try them out, make several orders… At the end it’s just the question of gaining more new buyers than the ones you lost (burned)…

I just purchased a Blue one. Hopefully it’ll eventually get shipped out and arrive before christmas time.

This morning I put the brown in the cart.
This evening I came home from work and I paid it (with tracking) without being in BLF.
It was put on back order.
I’ve frozen other purchases in BG until the O’PEN is sent.

I just ordered a red one. Crossing my fingers.

I buy a LOT of stuff from GB, usually around 2 orders a week (I’m in on lots of the group buy’s and also just placing normal orders), I’ve always received good CS from them when things went wrong (tho I must add I was openly posting our convo, had it been kept private so everyone couldnt see exactly what they were doing I dont know if they would of been so up front) however I am completely willing to do this and never order from them again, usually they’re only a few dollars cheeper and their shipping is a huge PITA, usually tracking NEVER works even tho they always change you for it.

I dont want to jump the gun here but if that’s the case yes, lets do this.

More and more, through experience, I've come to the realization that for a few "centavos" more I can get what I want with reliable customer service from state-side vendors.

Second Update - It appears that the lights will come in anyhow, so shipping should not be a problem, for anyone purchasing.

I received a lengthy note about the whole thing. I do believe and have believed that some of it is poor translations and a big difference in beliefs, standards and operating practices. I have to say that during my life, I have pretty much always been a my way or the highway kind of person and never a team player. Been that way for as long as I can remember, so working with things like this, just don't go well, because I don't tend to accept anything other than what I think is right. Don't plan to change that any time soon, so don' expect me to ever mellow. Maybe once I'm dead, I might start to mellow out.

Anyhow, it looks like y'all should get your lights no problem and I bet they will ship as quickly as they can right about now.


As far as banning, I've gotten to the point where GB isn't any worse than any of the others, really. If it was something I really wanted and it was the lowest price, I would buy anyhow, just to save a penny. Pennies are getting more and more dear to me lately, so whatever works.

But I still reserve the right to bitch about it...

GearBest has shipped out my Blue Pen light with tracking via EMS. Awesome!

Just checked my SPAM-box: mine is shipped as well, via Netherlands Post, LOL, you would think that should help to get the package to the Netherlands quickly, but that makes way too much sense to be true in the real world out there .
