Another 2D Maglite Mod?? Well, maybe this one is just a little different. O-L and C_K team up to do an RGBW Maglite - It Lives!!

Gonna follow this one! I like where you are going here.

Also the ACDC link was kinda funny.

Link from yesterday.

If you rotate the triple board 60 degrees in one direction you could shave out where the posts on the triple optic is saving damage happening to the opitcs?

Weee... A "classic" Old-Lumens maglite mod thread. Something truly new and unique.. What`s not to like. Ill be following this build! :)

ANOTHER O.L. ...... Amazing build .....

Watching with anticipation .....

Thanks O.L.

I’ve got the driver ordered, 30 7135’s (15 for the nichia’s in parallel, 5 each for the XP-E2’s) on a 33mm board was NOT easy (they fit ok but routing was a freaking nightmare). I’m not gonna post render’s, I’ll just wait till the board’s are here and built and post pic’s.

True, but also space/fit is a problem, as pyro1son, in the next post, already touched on. The three outer TIR optics will fit into the three areas in between the triple optic, so that the outer TIRs don’t have to be flattened on one side and possibly mess the beam up. The areas where thew three posts are, on the 3-up TIR could be hacked out because that TIR can just sit down on the led subsrtates of the three leds. All of the TIRs will be held in a top ring of some type, as I have done before. I don’t know if it will be metal or plastic yet.

Justin, will you be able to see threw the lens down to the MCPCB’s or will the top ring / holder block the view?

This light is so full of awesomeness it almost deserves a setup like Matt did on his Medusa but with cutout’s for the MCPCB’s.

C-K, once the top plate is made, you won't see into the head. It will be a metal plate. Right now you can, but that will be covered, for a cleaner look.

Hey O.L.,

Have you ever put a clock on your creations ? Maybe you wouldn't want to know how many hours it takes, a real "Labor of Love" to complete. How 'bout a little tease of your hand file work on the body ?

What kind of beam pattern do you expect?

(hope your videoing for your YouTube channel)

Some real nice work going on here, love it!

I think the trick to singing like that is to always be squeezing one out  then you become micheal bolton…

This is gonna be pretty cool looking… I know CK knows his stuff on the rgb end- I like that copper block you made.

Two great modders joining forces is too much awesomeness for a saturday morning!! If you guys don’t mind I would like to know if instead of going RGBW, is it possible to add a UV emitter (or whatever they’re called)? Something like a RUVW? Sorry for hijacking the thread, looking forward for the results.

Modders union wow , now i wish to live in the US nice and creative mod you doing there my eyes will be on this build

If I put a clock on my light builds and/or charged by the hour, well, it wouldn’t be pretty.

I will post the file work, by the end of Monday, because the light will be done, to the point of awaiting a driver by that time.

These are all TIR optics, so the beams will be smooth across and floody. Just an even lighting. It won't throw, but it should light up a good wide area in front.

I imagine UV could be used, but C_K would know better about that.

Very awesome. Two powerhouse modders at work.

11-08-14 More progress in the OP.

Pretty cool. I have some of those charge modules on the way myself. Great file work as always.

Congratulations! Great job  thanks for sharing

Fibre what? Yes I need pics to understand it, thanks. I'm a bit bedazzled to be honest.
