Olight Factory Dedomed Light?

yeah it loks like a jacob A-60 ..

So now the name brand lights are copying the aftermarket designs ?

crazy !!!

Jacob is a copy of Solarforce m8

In my opinion interrupting the manufacturing process is no small task. I would imagine they would need to order maybe 100 or 1000 reels for CREE to take any special interest.

Generally we won't get them as fast as China since they're next door. We do expect them in 1-1.5 weeks as our current estimate, just in time for Black Friday deals.

Likely due to the success and superior throw ability of the Jacobs A60, that has not really seen a single-18650 competitor to it yet for throw in stock form.

Given the bent bondwire in the pic, I think dedomed (as mentioned before) with a proper solvent. I personally don’t think cree would sell un domed LEDs to anyone. If however they are, its only a matter of time before Hank or aliexpress gets hold of some.

Well, I have one on the way so should be able to tell more about it before long.

This light is already on ebay. I think it has to be factory de-dome. This may be my light expense for 2015.

I don’t think Banggood could come close to matching Illumn in many ways, price and customer service.

That is one ugly flashlight! I’ll wait until they get a de-domed emitter into a better looking host.

What is so ugly about it?!!

If you want a lot of throw in a smaller light the head is most likely going to be bigger!

People say that about my TK75vn KT,the thing is unbelievable,I am not worried about what it looks like, especially in the dark!

All those extra rings-n-things are what I find ugly about it. What about that weird cone-shaped portion on the lower hand grip? There is a lot of aluminum to be saved if they cut out all that extra junk and make a nice shaped light. Something simple.

Edit: Okay, actually, looking again, it is exactly these two features I don’t like. The rings behind the head look like something on a cartoon space-gun. I’m assuming those are supposed to be heat fins. They need to be integrated better into the design of the head or something. The way they hang out there behind the head looks goofy. The thing at the back of the hand-grip looks entirely out of place. I really can’t figure out what that is or what it’s trying to accomplish. I’m sure it could go the way of the Dodo and nobody would miss it. Other than those two features, I guess it isn’t that bad looking of a light.

The light is a bit longer than a dollar bill, and about 2 1/4” dia at the head. The bit on the end is a tactical grip for a cigar style hold to better activate the tail clicky with gloves on. It’s a lot smaller than the images imply. 63mm head diameter, about 57mm reflector I think. Fairly compact light.

Edit: It’s about 3/8” wider than a Convoy L4 at the bezel, but about the same length.

I didn’t look at the specs, but I was imagining it to be hand sized, somewhere between the sizes of the EE X6 and the Convoy C8, closer to the C8. Those are the two lights I can visualize the size of.

At least I don’t find it ugly. It looks pretty good to me.

If they do a GB, you can have my spot.

I’ll be doing a review on it soon, will be sure to post plenty of pics and will try to remember to do a comparison line-up.

The light’s been shipped, it’s just a matter of waiting out the powers that be…

It’s this bullet that makes me wonder…

*Three brightness levels from 20 to 1020 lumens, controlled by a mode selector built into the head

*The M2X’s tactical tailcap switch features momentary activation and clicks on and off, while also providing immediate access directly to the brightest setting and strobe mode.

Is that the ribbed portion directly under the fins that is used to control modes? Magnetic? I suppose it has stops, as they list each position’s lumens output. But from a modders interest, that one point right there concerns me on what I’ll be able to do with this light. It’s obviously set up to run under 3A, I’d like to see it doing twice that. Maybe it’s just me.

Oh, and just exactly WTH is a “Javelot”? My cousin throws the Javelin in the Decathlon, reckon this is what they were going after? The long throw of the Javelin? Interesting…

In regards to changing modes at the “head”…………Probably works the same as my M3X and M22…

Basically loosen then tighten head, repeat process to go thru all Three modes.

Actually the M22 and M3X are a bit different.

M3X when Fully tightened is on MAX. Loosen a bit and it is on Low. Tighten and loosen quickly and you get strobe.

M22 is loosen/Tighten and repeat process to switch modes w/ strobe activated my 3 quick tail cap twists[!] or by a series of on/off half presses at tail switch!!

Here is wikipedia’s answer!!

The word javeline comes from Middle English and it derives from Old French javelin, a diminutive of javelot, which meant spear. The word javelot probably originated from one of the Celtic languages.
