at last arrived today BUT the reflector has a “dirt” spot

any chance i can find a replacement for the reflector ?

I would contact Ric about your reflector.

thanks, send them a message throw the website.
about resistor moding i have resistors writen on them 100 ,101,105 and 121 are in the same range as the r150 and r180 ?
got my answer here : SMD resistor code calculator

Mine came with many scratches and dents. Good packaging. Certainly it had scratches and dents before being packed.

Mine is exactly the same way. After taking 30+ days to get here it’s not worth if to try to get it replaced since its a personal light, if it was for a customer build absolutely but I’ll just live with it.

thats the problem ,its not mine ,i will build it with mtg2 for another guy.

Just ordered the right cell and thought maybe others are also searching:

Coupon: Keeppower
Price after coupon 10.75$
Comes to 12.74$ total with 1.99$ shipping included.

From HJKs test the Keeppower 4200 seems to be the best cell.

I dunno... KP does not make cells - they re-label them. So, are these any better than KK 4000's that test out over 4200 mAh capacity, and are rated at lower internal resistance than the KP and for less than half the price of the KP's? (0.05 vs. 0.06 ohms)

I really dunno with these. If we knew where the cell came from, it would help. HKJ's discharge chart looks better for the KP's yet hist internal resistance doesn't reflect that.

Note that those tests were done approximately 1yr apart. The newer tests are with KeepPower’s cells.

EDIT: also, are those KP’s new labels? I can’t get to their website right now…

KeepPower cells? Since when? Never heard of this. They've done this for years - re-label the cells, so their unprotected cells are equivalent to the manufacturers. They "were/are" well known for their protection circuitry.

If KP actually makes cells, that's news to me. They used to be high qual and well known for that, using only top brand cells like Panasonics. More lately (last 1-2 years), they seem to go out of the way to hide the brand name of the cell - I think so they can change it mid-stream, or batch by batch, making the quality and specs unpredictable - they've done this in the past. I've gotten cheaper made protected 26650's from them in the past - thin metal button tops that dent easily, etc -- I got screwed there, and others have, including dealers. They don't even tell the dealers, at least this is what happened a year ago.

Sorry Tom E, that’s not what I meant to say. KeepPower re-wraps, we know that. What I was trying to indicate was that KP unit tested by HKJ was tested nearly 1yr after the KK unit. It’s quite possible that the KP unit was just a re-wrap of the latest KK unit - we can’t assume that HKJ’s most recent KK test represents the current KK cells. Is that better?

Here is Another test/comparison
http://dampfakkus.de/akkuvergleich.php?akku1=529&akku2=358&akku3=316&akku4=115&akku5=116&akku6=411&a=5

Of course there can happen much especially with the new wrappers, but I wanted to buy the best tested batteries and that are the 4200mAh keepower.
11/13$ for a good imr26650 seems a good price for me.

This is what I mean:

I will go one cell with a fetdriver in this light. The 7-10A region is wher I want to be…

Ahhh - that's the crappy KK INR. The KK ICR's are the better ones. Whatever floats your boat Smile. I just can't stand paying more $$$ for a label - a suspect one at that...

I bought qty 2 (4 batteries) of these: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1263001, on August 13th 2014, but wow! They went up from $10.71 to $16.66!!

So, the ICR's used to be $5.10 each after the FT BLF discount, but now more like $8.

I still prefer the KK 26700 cell for the Yezl Y3, and several other lights that they fit. Great power out of DD drivers, great capacity, great price.

Ah now I see your point, the icr 4200 perform better than the inr…which I assumed to be the high current King Kong cell…

Not so much differents but still a bit…

Fastech only ships via TNTNL to my country which costs 10$, I found that out yesterday when I wanted to order a pair LGD1…

The most shops list them as icr 4000 but hkj named them 4200, the label looks different too…too much confusion for me.

I was lookin for the best single battery, but you can program the buck on these lights found. Get some good run times, those king kongs on fasttech are looking like the way to go. The new batch of MNKE from jetbatteries on amazon is not bad for single 3500mah cell. I got a batch from another seller though and they didn’t perform as well (they were a lot cheaper too)

The good batch MNKE perform about as good as the efest purple.

I got a good deal on a whole bunch of MNKE's way back - found out later they don't perform well at all... Maybe wayyy back in the day, they were the hot thing. Wasn't aware of a "good" MNKE. Think before I got into flashlights, there used to be a different (maybe better) MNKE cell, not sure - maybe that one came back into production/availability.

The absolute best 26650 (or any size) cell at a reasonable price still seems to be the Powerizer - long time not available, sold only by batterspace.com FrownCry.

Note that the KK ICR 4000 and KK ICR 4200 test almost exactly the same. The printing on the KK’s label probably does not matter much. (Higher currents begin to show a difference, but only for one cell out of two: eg it was probably a flawed cell. They terminate with the same mAh too.) Note that the KK ICR 4000 was tested in 2012, the KK ICR 4200 was tested in 2013, and the KeepPower 4200 was tested in 2014.

Is there a test anywhere on the Supfire 26650?

Yeah got some recently cause the ones from Jetbatteries performed real good. But bought it on the cheap in bulk from another seller. They are horrible really.

I guess the older batch I noticed has a more orange wrapper. The newer ones are lighter color. The efest are just too much, but they perform as good as the new mkne. Should have bought the KK 26700 instead, to least get the better run times. Think saw texaspyro post something about that awhile back- but wasn’t sure they’d fit

I use Xtar or KK ICR.
