This’ll teach me to try to make the family laugh.
I figured, well, never heard of “dd4” but I’ll see what I can find on their website and buy something and see.
That was my first mistake.
Well, I can always tell the story and see if y’all get a laugh out of it.
Starts with an attempt to be funny at home. What I ordered was three pairs of these, valued at 96 cents a pair:
http://www.dd4.com/goods/Convenient+Floor+Polishing+Dusting+Cleaning+Foot+Socks+Shoes+Slippers+-+Random+Color_691.html
(and it took multiple tries to get that, as their website repeatedly crashed and ended up with four copies of different attempts to create orders — one of which, finally, I was able to pay for.
(Don’t everyone jump on that bargain, they’re showing zero stock now, must have sold out.)
And the package delivered contains: two little metal knives, somewhat dinged up —- with the paperwork for the three pair of slippers, and valued at $15 for Customs.
Customs opened and closed the package en route — one of the labels on the outside is from Customs saying they’ll bill me if I owe anything.
So once I figured out how to send a message to “dd4” I let them know — both to cancel the bogus orders showing as unpaid, and that the one I paid for was mis-fulfilled.
The reply, with my order number right in the subject line, said:
“Due to the warehouse mistake, they only send you 3 shoes instead of 3 pairs of shoes. Now they wants to send you the others. But as the shoe is sent with random color, so they need to confirm the color of the shoe you received, so they can arrange shipment to send you the others. Please kindly advise us the color of the shoe you received … and the order number …”
I think they’re pulling my leg.
But what the heck. I sent them photos of every label, and every scrawl on the outside of the envelope and on the outsides of the box inside the envelope.
And photos of the knives that were in the box, because they were somewhat dinged up, as delivered, anodization scraped in places, like they’d been stepped on or something.
We’ll see.
Offhand, if y’all want to buy something from what used to be Aurabuy, now DD4 — let me know how it goes, here.
Big bargains, yup.

Don’t blame me if you try buying that and get fuzzy slippers instead, though.
