Lux Pro 2D XP-G2 light at Lowes, $12.97 now UNTIL Black Friday

I’m grabbing one today too. Saw these last week at full price and passed… Definitely not this time.

How bright is low mode?

^ hmmm, I'm not the best person to answer this type of question, but I'll give my impression. It is nicely separated from High. Guessing about 20% of High. If I were only to have 2 levels of brightness, I would say this light is just about right.

Stock, this is a great light for a non-flashaholic. For most of the rest of us, it's a under driven.. It's driven better than most stock lights, but still under driven.

Mine will have about 7 brightness levels and push the emitter to around 7 amps on turbo. That's if I can find a good buck driver that fits. If not, I may go MT-G2 DD. I haven't tried a smallish MT-G2 yet.

Its just not fair that you folks get all these great deals on lights, I’m still gutted that the Defiant wasn’t available here in the UK :frowning:

Any chance of a kind person shipping me one of these Lux Pro 2D please?

Cheers,

Woody

The one I just got back from had none, just the sign.
Had them run the SKU and they are all gone.
Good part is there are 4 others not too far, so we’ll get one tomorrow or Monday.

Good to see they are selling, I told the wife “Boy that BLF has some buying power”

I would be willing to do that for you, but I would think the shipping would kill it for you. Any idea how much?
If it would help, I have some of the older Defiants. I could also perhaps send to lower the cost of shipping per light.

I went and got one on my way home from work tonight. Excellent little light, low is a bit too high and it seems to have next-mode memory but for $13 its a great buy, especially with the machining quality.

I wish I had known that. I just went and bought two. Now I got to return them and buy them again to get my 10% off!

Of course, these will be modded.

I also like the LuxPro LP1200C because it has a reflector that is half OP and half SMO, so it would be good for an MT-G2. It uses 6xAA, so 6 Eneloops and an MT-G2 at 3 amps Zener mod, would be great for that light.

When I revisited my store this morning, I finally located the original display of these lights. Remember up until now they came thru with an XP-G. This new deal has the XP-G2. Here is a pic of both versions and the bar codes on each package is identical. That means both will ring up at 12.97, but what we all want is the newer XP-G2. Just make sure the one you grab is the right one.

The one I bought had a driver potted with a small amount of a Fujik-like material.

^ That pill looks different than dchomak's. Does your light have an XP-G or XP-G2?

XP-G

Hey guys, I picked this up earlier today not knowing there were two versions; xp-g vs xp-g2. Luckily, mine ended up saying XP-G2.

However, my led looks like this:

What did I get? Should it say XP-G2? [Edit: Its no different than the OP. My apologies.] Either way, this thing is pretty sweet. I like it more than I thought I would. Mine does not have next mode memory. It always starts back on high as long as you turn it off for more than 2-3 sec. A quick half press will get you to the next mode. Much better than next mode memory…this way you never have to go into strobe mode…

Also, not to go off topic…when you guys go to Lowes, seriously look into the Utilitech 320 Lumen 4 AAA light. I picked it up too, for $10. It’s also a Black Friday deal. The label looks like this:

I can show a beam comparison if anyone cares. It has a larger hotspot than the Lux Pro, it pretty impressive for its size!

This looks good if you want to run alkaline.

The star says XPG but the emitter is the XP-G2
The XP-G has a green base, the XP-G2 has a silver colored base

Congrats on the new lights. Is the 4AAA you mention this one?

Thanks for the verification, dchomak. Also, the Utilitech I was speaking of looks like this:

It appears to be a slightly updated version of the one reviewed by Old Lumens here

I was even able to fit an 18650 in it and turn it on; though without modification, the head was loose. Anyhow, just wanted to quickly let people know, as they’re probably going to Lowe’s anyhow.

Thanks, ImA4Wheelr. I wasn’t able to open your link, but its this one here.

Yeah. That's a sweet light. One of my favorites. They sold like hot cakes down here last year at $20.
