Lowe's Lux Pro MAX 2D LXII flashlight Video tear down, + photos and Mod to MT-G2/6xAA NiMHs - Beam Shots are up!

Yep, when I measured and found it was 41-42mm, I just about knew C8 would work. I just don’t have any C8 stuff as I hate those lights, LOL. I will do beam shots tonight. It has been raining, so I held off.

That black thing on the driver (end of the video) is probably reverse polarity diode…

I have been Banned from buying anything until after Christmas by my Wife.
She claims that I am to hard to buy for…………………
But I did get a call from her while she was at Lowe’s asking for the details on the light.
She did pick up 2 for me and they had the XP-G2 emitter.

So now the wait begins for Christmas, much like ordering a light from China

Cut down for one Li-ion 26650 or 18650. led4power driver with turbo. XP-G2 with the dome shaved off and on a Copper mcpcb.

Beam shots tonight of a stock light, the MT-G2 light and the 1D light.

Justin,
Great job on the video and other information on this light
I like the idea of the MT-G2 using the two 26650 batteries.

What is the story on the reducer tube to make the 26650 batteries fit

Thanks

Keeney Mfg. Co. 12-in Plastic Straight Coupling just cut to fit and use an O ring or two around it, for less play.

Thanks for the info and for some strange reason I think that I have something like that in stock.

Oh my, that shorty looks great.

Do yall think it’s possible to use blf20dd-z in this application?

Beam shots are in the OP now. Stock light, 1D light, MT-G2 light

I sometimes don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing that I live 75 miles from the nearest Big Box Store.

I’m waiting for you to mod a Taco Bell burrito with an MTG2 …

Brrrrrrpppp!

I am posting to say that I went to Lowes today, got the light. It is different. The driver is different, and the driver retaining ring does not unscrew; it is a press fit job (that I managed to mangle trying to “unscrew”)

^ Hmm, is that one of the older XP-G (Not the newer XP-G2) model? The pill looks different then both models though.

When I revisited my store this morning, I finally located the original display of these lights. Remember up until now they came thru with an XP-G. This new deal has the XP-G2. Here is a pic of both versions and the bar codes on each package is identical. That means both will ring up at 12.97, but what we all want is the newer XP-G2. Just make sure the one you grab is the right one.

I did stop at Lowe’s today and near the checkout cash registers they had the older XP-G lights for the higher price but on the big display with the signs that say Christmas Gifts For Under $…. they had the newer XP-G2 lights for the lower price.

So you have to look before you buy with both being available.

Yes it appears I didn’t pay close attention!

And I knew OL had said xp-g2… Wondered why different

Take them back for a refund or a exchange.

My local Lowes only had out the XP-G (which I bought one of) version till yesterday when they put out a display of 50 of the XP-G2’s of which I promptly bought 4 and will be returning the XP-G version.
