Review for 3528 SMD LED Strip Lights from Eachbuyer

Hi guys,

Is there anyone still awake at this moment?

Since Christmas is just around the corner I believe all of you are busy spicing up the atmosphere, and I’m no exception. :santa: Thinking about getting led rgb flexible strip lights from ebay or somewhere else (thought this kind of stuff is easy to get and after comparing the price I chose the later), I ordered a remote control 3528 smd led strips for about $13, and I received my parcel days ago! So I’d like to share my purchase with you guys here. It’s my first purchase of this hobby and you are more than welcome to make any comments.

The light was born here:
3528 SMD LED Strip Lights

I’m happy with the well packed parcel, which I have destroyed by force.

Let’s start with the family photo! Members are:
The user guide, the RGB control box, the remote, the power cable, and of course the strip…

It seems to be a universal remote control, because many of what I saw from their site was just like this one:

Four modes – flash, strobe, fade and smooth. Next time I will try to make a video of how the four modes work.

Connect the cable to the control box:
The order doesn’t include a power supply. So I must go find a 12v DC power supply. I guess you veterans have many in stock?

On the other end of the control box there are two cables as you can see in the first pic.
One is for receiving the signal and another for the strip light connector. (Is it called “connector” or does it have a name more scientific?)

The arrows on the cables indicate how they should be linked together.

So far the connection was done perfectly. :8)

Ps: The strip is said to be 5m long and can be cut to the length as you like:

Annnnnd……time to plug it in!

It has 3 colors (red green and blue obviously) and 12 color combos.

The color combos in one line on the remote are slightly different from each other and I can hard tell from the pics I took. So I just picked some of them to post:

I know the strip light can be used to decorate the car. However before that I must own a car…

So I applied it to a bonsai tree.

Kinda fugly…I decided to name the tree as”Let my freak flag fly”! :cowboy_hat_face: :cowboy_hat_face:

LOL Next time I will take pictures in the dark.

Like: Cheap; good quality; easy to work with; self-adhesive on the back; does not burn hot after a while.
Dislike: Not waterproof.

LOL I know it’s easy and nothing novel to fiddle with this simple strip light. But I just can’t help feeling happy with my green hand purchase on LED lights. I also bought some other items and I will make a post the other day.

At last… :stuck_out_tongue: Sleep tight everyone. Cheerio! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the review for eachbuyer

Wonder if you can run these with a Arduino or even a teensy

Awesome! I’m interested. Have you ever tried that?
