Your best stock flashlight buy in 2014?

I bought two lights, the winner is Starry Light

I agree Zuessray for under 9.00$ solid pill xml2 and directories e honest 900 stock lumens?

For me , this was the year of the Convoy S2 .

Just received my third 2.8 amp XML 5C along with the deep carry clip .

The anodizing on the latest one is purple .

It matters not . I love this style and format for EDC .

Supbeam K50 for $100 was the best deal. Other great deals were XinTD X3 for $25, Tangsfire C8 for $11, Fandyfire Warrior for $33, Tangsfire HD2010 for $20, HD2010 triple xm-l for $24, Eagle Eye BLF for $20, and Roche F6 for $20.

SK-58. $5 to $10, great shape, beautiful knurling, lights where you are looking not other people’s eyes, medium size, only one cell to change, good heat dissipation.

It has lithium ion capability, but requires care not to run cells down too much. Better to change the driver. Only black is still available. Three modes are now listed at the Sipik Web site, but descriptions do not always list the correct number of modes. The original LED is an Osram, which gives relatively good throw. Some are available with larger Cree LEDs with more flood and less throw.

I’m actually in the market for two s2’s right now. Can I ask where u bought yours with the deep pocket clip? What tint is 5c? What many chips is 2.8?

the K40M!

but after i looked inside it is not stock anymore.

Fenix PD35

Very nicely tooled and the color rendering is just amazing.

XINTD X3. Of course, it gets more exciting after mod. Now I want a K40M. Hahaa

eagle eye x6 blf edition - does that count as stock? i havent modified it in any way since receiving it from BG

if i had to pick a different light…. zebralight sc62w

Hi!

More information about it? it can not find anything on the web :~

Supbeam K40M, Olight S15Ti.

Buy this clip and this flashlight .

5C tint reminds me of an overdriven incandescent . It is also warm enough to mostly overcome the ever-present purplish hue at the edge of the XML beam .

PERFECT beam. Honeycomb TIR tames the XM-L2 tint rainbow into ONE great tint. Solid build and most tactile anodizing I’ve come across.
Got it on sale last November from IS and used it all year for back-country skiing at night, hiking, snowshoeing. Makes an effective bike light in a pinch.
The beam is a perfect wall of light. Need to to check out that clearing up ahead for a sec? A double press + hold puts it in temporary max. Release and you’re back in the “Main” mode you were in.

The Tiara A1 Neutral has been great too, basically a mini-Wizard that takes AA/14500.

Sure. It is a modified version of a Romisen light. I think Shiningbeam sells only modified Romisens. I don’t know if Bryan is modding these himself or if he is having them built to his spec, but that info is probably out there someplace. Here is the link to the Romisen product page.

They seem to be out of stock at the moment. I’m sure if you emails Bryan, he could tell you when or if more will be available.

Specs for the light are that it is an XM-L U2-1A emitter, 2.8-6v (so, comparable with 18650 and 2x cr123a), three modes, reverse clicky, 950 lumens on high, 300 lumens on medium, and 47 lumens on low. If I remember correctly, I paid about $25 a piece for two of them less than six weeks ago; i.e., $50 total for two.

I hope that helps.

I just… haven’t been as interested in stock lights lately. All my favorites now are modded.

However, let’s see… I’d count the ZL H52Fw as my top stock light but I got it in 2013. Or a SC52Fw or SC62(F)w or SC62d, but I didn’t actually buy one.

I got some L3 L10-219s which are all very nice… The Thrunite T10T NW was surprisingly better than expected. An old (but new to me) D25A Ti 2012 promises to be pretty nice after I swap the emitter and lens… while the mid-2014 version of the D25A Ti was the single worst stock buy I’ve ever made.

I haven’t modded my CNQG brass AA lights yet… even though I plan to as soon as I can find or make a suitable driver. Does that count? These things are gonna be awesome as soon as I “fix” them.

So, I guess that makes the L3 L10-219 my best stock buy of 2014.

I like your new avatar.

To answer the OP

1. BLF Special Edition X6
2. Convoy C8 (ah crud…I flashed w/ custom firmware…so no longer stock)
3. Convoy S2, S2, S2 mini (18350)

Those I have left bone stock…

Now the modified ones…well…there is a big list

For 2014, I ordered 21 flashlights in all and so far I received 14 - the rest are still in transit.

Of the 14, the flashlights that I left in its stock form - and which I have no plan of modding - are:

1. Eagle Eye BLF Special Edition X6
2. XinTD X3

Others were all modded and so will be the ones in transit which includes a Courui D01 (Gray) and a SolarStorm SP03.

However, my best stock flashlight since I started with this hobby in January 2013 is my 4Sevens Maelstrom X10.
