Lowes Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I see,That’s cool this deal popped up for you.

What do you and other’s think about the triple XP-G2 light stock as-is for someone who does not own any flashlight’s with this Led in it?

Most of my flashlight’s are various XML’s with most being XM-L2’s and then have one sst-50 light and one sst-90 light.

I keep looking at the XP-G2 light since I bookmarked it,never used or owned a flashlight with this led in it.

Hey all I wanted to do a proper review of these light’s but I am short on time and have no way to take pictures but this light is very nice and I am very impressed with it.

It is very comfortable to hold and carry and seem’s built well it has 3 modes Hi-Low-Blink-off no memory you can turn it off at any time by holding down the power button for about 2 second’s.

The beam pattern remind’s me of the Trustfire X8 and clones beam profile but this light has a much larger and usable hotspot the low mode work’s great around the house and the hi mode work’s great outside about as far as I am able to shine around my home at this time is 100 yard’s and it makes it out the far fairly easy as there were some deer out feeding and I could see them clearly at this distance.

The width of the reflector is about 25% larger than the Trustfire X8 and the overall beam size including flood is about 25% larger also. The hotspot is very impressive and is perfectly round and larger then any XML light I have seen or used and keep’s it’s intensity very well at farther distances this could be due to the reflector design as the lower 10–20 closest to the LED is Orange Peel then it moves into a smooth texture I am not sure but this maybe why it seem’s in the beam profile the brakes were put on the flood keeping it in more to make what flood is there brighter and the hotspot very bright.

I keep comparing to the trustfire X8’s beam pattern as this is a light I own and the beam pattern remind’s me of it the most with the exception of the hotspot being much larger on this new light, the Trustfire X8 has an STL-V6 driver in it and this Utilitech actualy is a little brighter and throw’s farther.

I only had the chance to use the light for a little less then an hour but it sure is a pleasure to use for it’s comfort, size and very usable beam the lumen’s are rated at 500 but this light to me seem’s to surpass this number.

A light I think some of you might be wondering how this compares to is the Home Depot XM-L2 light’s and this little guy (little compared to the 3D Defiant’s…lol) compares very well and actualy has a similar brightness but actualy I would rather use the Utilitech for basic around the yard and stuff then the defiant’s but if I had to have a light to throw the beam realy far I’d reach for the defiant….the defiant XML’s from the last 3 year’s IMO throw very well for a store bought light but so much of the intensity is in the corona of the beam helping it throw farther but the wider hotspot of the Utilitech just comes more handy IMO for basic function’s.

For this sale price it’s a no brainer if you have the fund’s I’d pick one or more up if for anything to have a C battery flashlight on hand as that’s the only battery on the shelf when a catastrophy hit’s and also because it’s just a nice light to have around and just the right size for a lot of different reason’s…I’d even buy one at full price but at half price at just a little over $15 it’s a steal.

Hope this is somewhat helpful. XM-L2 500 lumen model—> http://www.lowes.com/pd_569183-50584-LWFL1405_0?productId=50256751&Ntt…

Just wanted to let you all know I ordered a few more of these as Christmas gift’s for the family and two of the three flashlight’s I ordered had XML-T6 led’s and one had an XM-L2 led.

I guess for those of you that live close to a lowe’s you can peek and see what Led it has but for those of you who order like I did just be aware of this in this product—>

^ Bummer. I would trade them in if I was near a Lowes outlet.

Thanks for sharing your impressions 2 posts up. :)

Your welcome.

I’m about a little over an hour away from a lowes and I am contemplating doing that but I just did a beam shot comparison and there realy isn’t much difference indicating this flashlight isn’t driving the led very hard none of the family member’s that are receiving them know anything about flashlight’s two of them just have halogen bulb maglites and my grandparent’s still have a silver metal flashlight that uses a bulb that look’s like it came from the 1950’s…lol,so they will all be impressed as is so I’m just not sure at this point.

Guess Lowe’s was angry I bought the light’s at close to half off then slapped a 10% coupon code on top of it using a trick, here is a post about this trick in case you all want to try it it realy does work was able to make it work for me a couple of times to get coupon codes—>

On Black Friday I got an email from Lowes about a $14.98 deal on this Direct Drive ratchet wrench and sockets. Regular price is $29.98. Well, with everything else going on that day it went right over my head. Sometime later when I thought of it I checked it out.
As some of you may know, there are coarse toothed ratchets and fine tooth ratchets. Of the 2, fine tooth ratchets are usually preferred as they allow the wrench to ratchet with less backward motion to engage the next tooth. This “Direct Drive” wrench in effect has infinitely small teeth to alow ratcheting in tighter spaces. IF it works, this could be a very useful tool.
I have been watching the display since BF and the have NOT been selling, At All! They were reduced to $19.98 and still they didn’t sell. Now I see that they are at $9.98 so I picked 1 up to play with.

Yes, in “effect” but there’s no teeth or paw used. If there were, they’d be so fine, that they’d fail under load. It uses a one-way clutch like in most motorcycle starters (spring-loaded rollers on ramps). If you don’t have one, get it.

It is what you describe and pretty much what I expected. First thing I did when I got it home was take it apart.

Great deal alert dchomak. I use ratchets probably more than any other tool. All mine are the old style with standard teeth. Really like this direct-drive concept.

Unfortunately, those don't appear to be in the stores around me.

Will be keeping an eye out for them now though.

Actually my Lowes app says there is 142 in the Newberry store.
item #607975 NOT #607976

Between this and the HD thread you cost me a lot of money dchomak hahah.

I picked up 3 of the ratchet sets. One to play around with and two to fill in for nephews Christmas gifts, their flashlights are staying with me instead haha.

You know it’s funny, I know I said I picked up 1 to play with. I lied! I also picked up 3, one for me, one for MY nephew and one for a friend. The really funny thing is that when I went to check out the cashier asked me “why is it everyone buys three of these?”

It’s the rule of 3 I guess. My store has em marked at 19.98 but they scanned at 9.98.

Thanks dchomak. That did the trick. I'll be picking up a couple tomorrow. One for me and one as a gift. That is, unless a 3rd jumps into my shopping cart while I'm not looking.

I bought 2 Saturday night. The display was about half empty so they're selling well @$9.98. Thanks for the alert.

Picked up a couple this morning. I can tell I'm really going to be appreciating it when I have my arm deep in a transmission tunnel trying to remove a 5 foot long, fine threaded bolt, and there is like 1 inch of ratchet movement space.

Dang it! Now that it's posted on BLF I can almost be assured there won't be any left by the time I get there! Oh the power of BLF!

Garry,
I will be Direct with you. You need to Drive over Lowes right now and Rachet up your efforts on this to get one before it’s too late!

LOL, it’s almost as though Dchomak is giving us subliminal messages, because now I feel like I need to go to Lowes.

:open_mouth:
That’s a heck of a deal!!!
