Copper X6 heatsinks(CLOSED ORDER PAGE IS UP)

Do you sell the xp32 triple mcpcb along with the ledil cute optic as an addon?

The OP didn’t seem exactly clear about what optics you offer.

Post #13 explains the optics im buying unless u guys want something else if so please post a link ?

Mitko, the CUTE-3 optics are from Ledil, not Carclo, and are 35mm to fit the X6. Each TIR within the optic is about 20mm in diameter and some 14mm in depth. The Carclo optics are 24mm in diameter for the Quad and fit the 20mm Quad board. Each optic is about 10mm in diameter and 6mm in depth.

Beam profiles are really nice from the bigger TIR in the CUTE-3. It has a honeycomb pattern on the surface for diffusion, and sanding it smooth then polishing it allows the internal build to show clearly but otherwise doesn’t add as much to the output or beam profile as I would have thought.

As you see here, the heat sink has a narrower opening for the 24mm Carclo optics, one of the primary reasons I made the sink like this in the first place. Also because the optics are so short.

Here you can see the honeycomb surface pattern on the larger CUTE-3 optics

Compared to sanded and polished

Here’s a look at the polished version (wish they made them this way) in the X6

Compared to the stock lens

And here’s a look at how the Noctigon sits in the X6, on top of the heat sink/spacer…

The Noctigon has to be filed or sanded slightly to fit into the head of the light. I lay the file on the table and make strokes on the edge while turning it slightly, rotating it in my fingers a bit for each stroke. This keeps it round and it only takes a few minutes.

Here’s what the aluminum sink looks like sitting on the emitter shelf, Noctigon waiting to go in…

See how vastly different the two builds are? Each according to the needs established by the optics and mcpcb.

Hope this helps.

I am interested with:

2x Triple setup:

  • copper spacer
  • copper mcpcb (if available)
  • optics (medium)

+ international shipping.

My Zip Code is 43452 everyone can check the postage here http://postcalc.usps.com/

Let me no how u did it like priority box or padded envelope if u order 1 copper it will not be over a pound

Yes ill be offering them as a package but it will be extra from the prices of the heatsinks, The xp32 triple mcpcbare $10 for 2 pieces so if u want 1 it will be $5 extra plus the cost of the optic witch i think its $2 ? so it will be the cost of the heatsink +$7+S/H

Hi.

A padded letter for one triple copper should be okay, right?
To Germany it will be $12,60 ?!

Regards

a padded envelope is fine i just do not no how to check everyone's shipping charges

So my best bet if u guys can check it here and my zip is 43452

Just posting that ill be gone for a few days to a week (leaving now to a funeral) but ill post here and there since ill be down in the woods with no internet................ BYE FORUM

Man that sounds almost sinister! BYE FORUM…so final sounding in all caps. Yuck!

God be with you and yours as you go through this Nitro. Be well…

I would like 2x copper triple shelfs and 1x aluminum quad.

Nitro-

Sorry to hear about your loss - deepest condolences.

My preferred order -
Quantity 1 - Copper Triple sink —- $12.50
Quantity 1 - Aluminum Triple sink —- $ 9.00

I also prefer ordering the package deal for the Triple with MCPCB and Optics if you make the package deal available, by adding:

Quantity 2 - C1074 Cute-3 SS Triple Optic —- 2 x $2.00 = $4.00
Quantity 2 - Noctigon XP32 MCPCB (Intl-Outdoor Store) —- 2 x $5.00 = $10.00

Shipping from your zip to my zip in Pennsylvania via padded envelope is $6.10

Total of preferred order is $35.50 plus $6.10 shipping.

if it turns out you order a run of the heat sinks in only one metal, I will take Quantity 2 of the Triple design in whatever metal you choose, copper or aluminum.

Thanks!

I am confused, i thought it was the LEDIL C11333_CUTE-3-SS that is 16,5mm deep that was the correct optic for the triple build and not the 15mm C1074 Cute-3 SS that is 1,5mm shorter? or are they interchangeable?

It’s taller because the legs at the mcpcb are long, they’ll need to be sanded or filed down. I put my optic on the copper board then used 220 grit sandpaper to get rid of the excess leg that came through the board. Then fine sanded with 320, 400, and 800 grit. Ready to go! (Sounds more time consuming than it is)

Edit: Mouser lists 11333 and 10754 both as 15mm tall. The 10754 is specifically made to fit XM-L emitters so it works well with the XP-L and it’s dome. I got the SS and W and the W is shorter, the legs don’t over penetrate the copper mcpcb like they do with the SS version, for whatever reason. The shoulder on the leg above the mcpcb is correct.

The optic on the far left is the wide version, the two beside it (middle and right) are both SS versions. Notice the leg below the shoulder is shorter on the Wide optic. Beats me…

I am interested with 1 Triple setup:

- Copper heatsink

- Copper mcpcb

  • Optics

($12.50) + ($5) + ($2) + shipping to Canada via First-Class Mail® International Large Envelope ($5.83) = $25.33

What driver and battery do you guys recommend and where do I get them? Should I dedome the LEDs or leave the domes?

Awesome

Put me down for a triple Al heatsink + XP32 and the ledil cute optic.

9+7 + shipping to Aus NSW. Thanks

So….yikes, now we have 3 names each for two different components many people dont have a grasp on yet and its pretty confusing… 10754 = ledil cute-3 = W = better for XPLs? 11333 = ?? = SS …but cajampa listed both as ss so…

What are the advantages of the wider optic and narrower optic for the triple…? Tell me if I’m right, but I’m looking for least work and best fitting for the XPL so that means W right?

Sorry, but this gets pretty confusing to those of us who have never actually done this before and may not even know the terminology of what components are necessary to buy. If you give names to something I’ve not experienced I’m curiously following, but if you give me 3 names for it and then start using them all, I’m lost.

These “packages” should be everything except the EE X6 and the XPLs… right?

We all need to specify one each of the optics with 3 different names, mcpcb and then choose only heat sink material since the configuration of heat sink is set based on you going for 3x or 4x right?

The Ledil CUTE-3 35mm is the one to get if you’re building a triple. This will fit the XP-L in the 10754 and 11333 versions. There are SS (soft spot) and W (wide) variants, but I found the wide one to be too much diffusion and a lot of lumens lost.

Triple X6 35mm optic [Ledil CUTE-3 Data Sheet](file:///C:/Users/DBCstm/Downloads/Cute-Oslon%20SSL%2080-Ledil-datasheet%20(1).pdf)

Ledil CUTE-3 10754 Soft Spot
Ledil CUTE-3 10755 Medium
Ledil CUTE-3 10756 Wide
Ledil CUTE-3 11333 Soft Spot
Ledil CUTE-3 11334 Medium

The Ledil data sheet lists the 10754 and 11333 lines as having the same specs. Everything is the same except for the name. I have no idea why.

Quad X6 24mm optic Carclo optics site[offset]=10

The Carclo optics are made for smaller LED’s, they’ll require the XP-L to be de-domed or the optic to be modified.

Carclo 10621 Narrow Spot Array Top Lens (Quad)
Carclo 10622 Narrow Spot Array Plain (Quad)
Carclo 10623 Medium Spot Array Frosted (Quad)
Carclo 10624 Wide Spot Array Frosted (Quad)

These are the options, with the Ledil Medium not available anywhere I looked. This is subject to change as they may be restocked at various dealers unknown to me.

Thanks, Dale, that is some great news i got some 10754,10755,10756 but i thought i made a mistake buying those and the C10446_CUTE-4-SS and C10447_CUTE-4-M is also 15mm, very nice that mean one less thing to fix

I got my 10755 medium from a very nice ebay seller

Are there copper mcpcb’s available for the CUTE-4 series? Or would you have to use small individual stars and align them under the optics?

Interesting…

I used a 50mm Tuija in a Mag build with XM-L2’s and aligned 16mm Noctigons under it, works pretty well. So yeah, this is interesting. Now I’ve gotta find the best place to get a 4-up Ledil….

Edit: Best I can tell, the CUTE-4 is made for XR-E emitters, XP-L’s would have to be de-domed or the optics modified for the larger dome of the larger emitter.

I couldn’t say for sure why they made the wide optic so much shorter than the others but given the same shape of the TIR section below the lens I’m speculating that a sanded/polished wide lens will have almost the same beam as a sanded/polished SS lens but with a shorter stack height.

Sorry to hear about Gramms Nitro. Let us know when you are back and I’ll be ordering 1ea of the 35 triple Cu and Alu sinks.
