I don’t like 2AA lights, not enough juice to be truly bright, and too big to be small
I prefer 1AA or 4AA, 1AA for size, 4AA for power, i want both to be upgradable for next gen LEDs and DTP stars, and high efficiency drivers (many 1 and probably 2AA have low efficiency drivers).

My favorite 2 x AA light is the GL-037-43B light that I just put a #3 Zoomie Black 3 Mode pill into. On a different day, I might have cheated and said my 2 x AAA Smiling Shark 5049 with a pill made of copper pipe, an XP-E LED and a Nanjg 102 driver.
My ideal 2 x AA light would look and feel as good as these do and have competitive light output, and zoom. It would have no rings outside the main beam disk either at focus or at flood or between. It would either take two “1.5” volt cells or take two 14500 cells but not interchangeably. A lithium ion driver should fade out before the voltage drops to half the maximum. Taking one AA by removing an extension, like the GL-037-43B does would be nice but is not important for one who has many lights.

My fantasy light is a Sunwayman D20A. I love the body type. It’s very pricy and I’ve never been able to find an inexpensive equivalent for it. Reminds me of a light I uesed to have as a kid.

I like the second red LED and side by side cells, but I like smoothly curved shapes.

I like the form factor of the 2AA minimag , so any fantasy light will eventually exist , as these lights will be endlessly modded with the latest technology .
