I think my monster flashlight has what you guys refer to as a "p60 drop in."
this is by far the best flashlight I've ever owned, or even seen. A friend of mine purchased a 2800 lumen flashlight for a little over $330 that has 3 xml t6 emitters, and while it's obviously brighter up close, what you guys refer to as floodier, the beam doesn't quite justify the $250 price difference. We're both pretty disappointed with it.
I have a smooth reflector in my flashlight as an upgrade option, are there any better (throwier?!) p60 drop ins that I could stick in my flashlight or any kind of upgrades that can be done (or built) to get as much throw as possible out of my current flashlight 'host'?
heres some pics of my current flashlights I've been carrying. They are good and get the job done, but I have a few convoy S series lights on their way to me to replace the sk68 clone and I'm in the market for a much much throwier type of light to replace the monster light. I work on the river and travel east to west and west to east always in search of more light.

You may have bigger problems to worry about than your flashlight. The boat in that last picture looks to be leaning hard to port and may be about to capsize.
My suggestions would be either, or both, of these lights. The xintd uses a xpg2 in a c8 format, which provides good throw and some spill. The uf-t20 is a zoomie, like your sipik, and has decent reviews
They will both throw way better than a p60, and don’t break the bank.
If you are set on keeping the p60, you can get a xpg2 emitter, and appropriate driver, which should increase throw. I say should because I can’t identify your led, so I’m not sure what it puts out.
Lol sorry about the pic being sideways I can't control that with tinypic. That's just how she drafts. When this company got her they took out some weight in the front that I believe was for the old hydraulic system that raised and lowered the jack off pilot house. They replaced it with a newer system that isn't nearly as heavy so the front sits higher these days, otherwise it would draft a lot deeper in the front. The boat the light is pointing toward is more likely to capsize, but towboats are a lot harder to sink than you'd think.
At the risk of posting “on Topic” in this thread, why not just buy a light with a bigger, deeper reflector? Something like a Convoy C8? Those P60 drop-ins/hosts don’t usually have the best thermal paths anyway.
A drop in with an XP-E2 driven hard will give you max throw from a p60 however you will lose the side spill.
Dedoming an XM-L will increase throw but you will also lose much of the side spill and the tint will shift to the warm spectrum.
Your current emitter is a first generation XM-L, since that is what your used to you probably won’t like the pencil beam of the XP-E2. So a good upgrade would be a second generation XM-L the XM-L2 driven around 3 amps, since this appears to be a work light no need to get over zealous with current. Your p60 host should handle this amout of heat just fine.
RMM has done all the work for you, XM-L2 on a Noctigon with a Qlite driver at 3.04 amps. Select an XM-L2 with your tint choice and a smooth reflector. The XM-L2 U3 1A will be the brightest if you prefer cool white.
yea my current light does work well, I was looking for upgrade alternatives but I really like where this thread went so next week I'm probably gonna order the XinTD flashlight, a p60 xml2-u3-1a drop in for my current light.... And the convoy m2. My addiction has fully set in. If these lights are half what the reviews claim it will be better than buying those cheap $30 Wally world lights every other week that break easily and really aren't bright enough in the first place.
If you like the smaller head size of P60 lights a nice compromise is the Convoy M1, not as good a thrower as a C8 but much better than a P60 with better thermal management if you overdrive it a bit. If you don’t mind the head size though the C8 is hard to beat.
I agree with Rufusbduck that a C8 is an great thrower, I see lots of people complain about the size of the head.
There is an easy solution to that problem and it is the C2, exactly like the C8 but with a smaller head. I have 2 C2’s and everything is interchangable with C8’s except for reflector and lens. They make a great host since brass or copper pills for C8’s are readily available.
C2’s have a little less throw since they have a smaller reflector but they look much more proportionate in my opinion.
Now you’ll be facing a whole new problem…which light to use/carry. Evolution only gave you two hands so using more than two lights can be a hassle. Having pants with five or six pockets sounds like it will make it easier to carry more lights. However trust me, your family will threaten to disown you if you go walking around town with a light sticking out of every pocket.
