Code now public! BLF A6 FET+7135 Light. Short 18350 tubes and Unanodized Lights Available

Hank - the production run that will be installed in the BLF version of the A6 will be handled by EE.

Chicken Drumstick - shipping will be just as shipping for the X6-SE.

Newland - I do not have any confirmation on "less than" prìcing.

Count me in for one.

1. Maximum mode - what will be the output current?
2. Why for Flashlight 7 modes? EDC LED Flashlight - better 4 modes (without strobe), for example ” ◦2. Approximate PWM levels of each mode: Example: (1) 2% - (2) 15% - (3) 40% - (4) - 100% ”

Q1. Maximum mode – what will be the output current?

Will depend on the battery used and whether or not the end user performs a spring bypass. EE is not going to do a spring bypass. That will be up us individually. For a clearer explanation of a DD driver read the description on RMM's website for his BLF17DD or Wight's A17DD-SO8 driver thread

Q2. Why for Flashlight 7 modes? EDC LED Flashlight – better 4 modes (without strobe), for example “ ◦2. Approximate PWM levels of each mode: Example: (1) 2% – (2) 15% – (3) 40% – (4) – 100%

Because the battery chosen will change the output levels, 7 modes are required to ensure everybody can find a usable mode for whatever the current task is at hand. The PWM levels have not been decided yet and really do not matter because this driver will be able to be flashed to an end user's preferred UI. If one does not or cannot currently flash firmware it can be performed by any number of BLF'ers around the world. I do not do it myself, and may never, but it does not seem to be that difficult. For certain we will have the highest "High" and the lowest "Low" that this driver allows.

There are 4 main things that separate this from a stock Eagle Eye A6

  1. BLF Logo
  2. The A17DD-SO8 driver
  3. Copper for the emitter
  4. User's ability to flash firmware

I understood )))
Thank you for explanation.

Put me down for 2 neutral white of course

Added Sir :)

i’ll take @ least 1 NW

Please put me in for 2 nw

Thanks, yeah that sound like a good plan, i just like to add that for me i would be happy to pay a bit more for the highest V6 bin if needed, and i hope most would

Edit:
I am in for 4 lights
2 of each tint

Being as I kept up with the list on the EE BLF X6, I’d be happy to do the same if you need some help bugsy. Just let me know!

FWIW I have recently had a good look at the XP-L V6 3D and it’s a very nice high output emitter with as near a white tint as I’ve seen. Shining it on the white metal cover of our AC/Heat unit in the house showed almost no discernible tint. If anything a little warm but very close to white at higher levels. Even my picky wife couldn’t see a tint.

You did a fantastic job with the EE BLF X6!! Thank you!

So far it is not too bad but after the lights arrive and Wight's driver and the copper get installed and of course provided everything performs as I expect it will I will definitely need help and it will definitely be appreciated. :)

Edit...Blame it on my eyes. LOL. 4 lights added to the list :)

That is interesting to hear. The tint designations sometimes make my head spin :)

About the picky wife :) ..... you probably already know this with the cameras but ladies do have different eyes than men that actually allow them to see more colors and shades than a man could never discern without measuring equipment. I found that out in my graphic design business.

Interested in one NW. Many thanks!

ToyKeeper is one of those blessed with a wider perceptual color vision, sensitive to a lower range of tints than we can even see.

Need to get her input on XP-L tint bins… I’ll shoot her a PM and see what she says about the issue.

I’m not a woman, but to my eyes the 3D is ideal. The 3C is nice as well, but can seem a bit green at times. 3A seems like it should be very close to 3D (based on the tint bin chart thats floating around), and most places they are cheaper.

The V5 2D works well in optics, sort of a compromise, but I prefer the 3D.

My first X6 Triple was done with V4 3D and it’s definitely a warmer, slightly rose hued color. Also less lumens, shows up pretty big when you’re multiplying by 4.

There are now 3D tint in the V6 bin, but they seem to be some of the priciest of all the XP-L emitters. The 3A are also available in V6, and seem to average about $1 or ~20% cheaper per emitter (at low quanitites). I’ve been pricing some for my own X6 triple.

I would like to order 2 of these, 1 cw, 1 nw please.
