Group Buy:$23.99 of BLF Special Edition X6 Upgraded CREE XM-L2 U2-3C Flashlight @tmart.com

Takes all the meaning of a BLF Special Edition when there are now thousands of them and anyone can have them. Not a collectors item any more. That's the bad part to me. Same with the D80, which will probably follow suit.

Whatcha mean? Am I not going to be able to sell my BLF light collection in ten years and retire? That's it, there going to the grave with me. I know I have originals even if no on else does.

> We are making a good deal of BLF Special

Ah, the English, she is the language of mystery, of multiple meanings, of ambiguity, of deception.

> a good deal of

Could mean they’re making lots and lots of them,
hang on and they’ll drop in price to $9.88 by summer, or
could mean they’re now selling a good bargain price.

Got ya…if it just had BLF and not “special edition” sure…but yeah…a general run of a special edition cheapens the first release

A clone of a clone :frowning:

Hmm, how would you translate “caveat emptor” —

I’d think something like “probably looks the same on the outside, but is cheap and corners cut on the inside, hey, who’s going to know?”

It’s getting less “Special” every day. Soon everyone is going to be carrying them.

I would think that it makes it more special that everybody wants what we have. :) I remember when Kronos said 1000 units only that people wanted more.

On the flip-side...if Kronos is saying caveat emptor and Neal is saying that it is not from BG or EE...then....I would not touch it with a 10' pole. Banggood has some available and they are still a decent price for those that feel they missed the boat. Besides..we need to support those that support us. Banggood is very receptive to working with us and our ideas and making them become real.

Very good point. I missed out on the GB and was actually thinking about ordering one from T-mart. Maybe I should just stick with Banggood for the light or get the host and DIY the rest once everything gets worked out with the host packaging/missing parts issues…

I don’t think Eagle Eye has anything to do with it. The eagle eye web site has shut down and has been that way for a couple of weeks. That suggests they are no longer in business. I think the BLF special editions were clones of the X6. These maybe clones of clones, who knows.

Marc.

EE is still in business. They tried to bring their site back online because of the X6 but many complained about the lack of english. I imagine they are working on it again.

It was never a special light to me, after I threw an 18650 in it and shrugged at it’s performance it’s been sitting in my glovebox ever since.

They may still be in business but it is not necessary to take a website down to improve or translate it into another language, you simply leave the original up while working on the new version, once complete upload the changes to the server or transfer the url to the new page, it takes only minutes.

buy from this guy at your own risk… he sold fake batteries last year

Well according to eagle eye these are fakes!

can be found here…“:The statement of Eagle eye X6

That is true but it is their choice on what and how they do it. A website does not make a company legitimate (a pet peave of mine). They did not have their website up when I purchased my first EE's based on the reviews of the X6 (before the X6-SE GB). All the information that they have is also on Banggood's website so it really shouldn't matter unless one believes only legit companies have websites.

Case in point....this other is selling X6-SE's but even EE says they are fakes BUT it is on this guy's website.

BLF’s buying power created the success of the X6 BLF special edition. If we decide to we can also wield our power to punish sellers that try to use us to just make a quick buck.

Tmart :Sp

Buyer beware.

Halo - Good theory but something like that could never work because for only $1 difference people will greedy then complain that the item (whatever it is) is junk.

Bottom line....go with what is KNOWN not just cheap or cheaper. :)

I think this light will continue to live on regardless of the longevity of the Eagle Eye brand. It’s evident that there are multiple copies being made now and that will only drive the price down, as Old-Lumens eluded to, people will continue to purchase the lower priced product until the X6 is as cheap and ubiquitious as the C8.

Let’s face it BLF has much influence on the lights that people purchase and the X6 comes highly recommended.

I think what we have accomplished here is creating a new brand of flashlight called “BLF”. Just as many now believe that Cree is in the business of making flashlights.

lol funny you mention that I have several friends that keep telling me they're buying a "cree" brand headlamp/flashlight regaurdless of how many times I explain cree is a manufacturer of emitters... the same dozen or so guys also think ultrafire 18650's are actually 4000 mAH.
