Tank 007 BLF

That's all good but as I said, if they can't deliver on all the promises why deal with them for a custom light in the first place? We either need to find another manufacturer and/or reseller that can test and deliver a flashlight with the promised features or, if we can't, we need to find lights that we know we won't get burned on.

I'd LOVE to be able to get a good deal on my dream light too, but I'd rather not get burned for it like I did on this E07 deal. If we can't get our dream light without being burned then I at least want a light with features I want that I KNOW will work as promised and at a good group buy price with at least a BLF logo on it that separates it from the rest and supports the forum and the reseller.

Well.. we can now give Ric a chance to see if he can deliver on this criteria with the AA light he recently proposed. He might have a different concept behind what we deem "custom" in that maybe he thinks we just want a logo printed on the light so we might have to be a little persuasive.

The BLF logo will not make me and many others buy a single light, that offers nothing special besides the logo. If you want that .... why not make some custom BLF stickers and slam it on your favourite light and voilà.

I still have hope that we figure out a way to do the custom lights. If the only the prototypes weren't so expensive... sigh.

Got mine today and it seems that most of the rampant whining was without merit.

  • OSRAM Golden Dragon PLUS emitter - check.
  • Neutral tint that makes both an iTP A3 Q5 and a Uniquefire AA-S1 look blue in comparison - check.
  • Works with both Eneloop and Duracell alkaline - check.
  • The head can be screwed in basically all the way if the bottom screw is adjusted - check.
  • Lower low than the iTP A3 Q5 rated at 1.5 lumens - check.

In low (only) I can hear a humming sound if I have the ear around 2 centimeters from the light, so the problem is easily solved - don't have the ear 2 centimeters from the light.

Glad to hear that you got a functional light .

Us whiners did not .

That gives me some hope... fingers crossed.

It doesn't seem to fix all the duds that have been reportedly shipped and it doesn't discredit their disappointment.

I'm still waiting for mine, but the good news is the batteries I ordered on ebay (China seller) AFTER this purchase arrived two days! :)

Like Jack said, that’s good for you but please don’t call the others that didn’t receive the same light you got whiners. You’re going to piss off a lot of people that aren’t whiners. So far you are the ONLY one to report in with an example that has what was promised. I still haven’t received mine yet and since I have two coming I have two chances to win the same lottery you did. I anxiously await the opportunity to “scratch off my tickets” and see if I won anything decent.

In the mean time you need to consider an apology to everyone in this thread.

The worst whiners are the people who didn't receive their lights or didn't even order one.

So you’re actually saying that everyone that got one with improper battery fitment, regular Osram emitters that are anything but neutral, and failing drivers and complained about is whining without merit? All because you are the only one to get a good example?? LMAO!!!

As for those that bought one or more and haven't received theirs yet, they have every right to complain since the overwhelming odds are that theirs will be like everyone elses except yours. I don't care if mine was a good example like yours. If everyone else got bad ones I'd still be upset for them and just consider myself lucky.

So they are guessing that they will have a bad one, so complain now? That makes no sense to me, but ok. By the way, I'm one of those people who have ordered it but not received it.

To answer the OP, I have 2 very similar lights, I only ordered this one because of the BLF branding on it, which I still think is cool. I have very low expectations of ALL Chinese lights in the low budget range, so as long as it still throws a beam, I'm OK with that, at least for less than 20 bucks.

Interesting. Does yours work with 14500's? You fail to mention that and I'm curious.

Having read the bad feedbacks here you got my hopes back that there's a chance I might get a good light. Thanks for posting.

I haven't received mine yet. For the record I haven't complained either because I don't want to pre-empt the light I would get. However I very much appreciate the feedbacks given by members who have received their light and imo their complaints are valid and not considered whining.

We must remember that this is BLF. What I or anyone consider acceptable defects for a certain cheap price point may not be to others.

Someone mentioned getting the GD only, not plus. Lottery emitter anyone? How do they pick the ones who get the GDP? =)

For me it looks to be the same emitter as AA-S1, which is GDP and it didn't look like the GD emitter which I found pictures of. I'm sure it's the same emitter for everyone.

I haven't tried with 14500's, I don't have any.

I just received it, and I can hear the buzzing sound on low a couple of meters away(on NiMH - I dont hear anything on 14500). The tint is also cool white, and has never been anywhere near neutral. On a NiMH, it's as bright as my Tank007 TK-703(and same hotspot size?). It's a little brighter on 14500(but not much).

How do you tell the difference between GD and GDP?

read here Jacob: http://flashlight-wiki.com/Osram

The ones who did not order dont whine at all. They smile all day long and are very happy

that they did not order something which quality seems to be in questian.

Hmm, so the only way to tell the difference is on the coating/lens? The LED in mine is only covered by a clear material(no idea if silicone or resin) in the LED square. There is no coating/lens outside this square.

Seems like it, yes.

More unfortunately (imo) the GDP comes in several (good) warm white tint bins,

but also in 2 ultra white. If the manufacturer just order a batch of GDP without

stating tint, one may end up with a cool white as you did.
