Help; 20mm driver..... from the Ultrafire F13, Paisen Z6, Sipik SK98, Sky Eye F13 etc......,

I did the little mod, mentioned here, to remove the strobes, and only keep the 3 main output modes,
but it didnt help, and i still have 5 modes..

I had a .......little something... a that place and removed it, but still have 5 modes..

Did more people experience that? and how can I get the desired 3 modes?

Just copied the pic from the Sipik thread:

This driver is used in the following lights, just to mention a few:

Paisen z6

Sipik SK98

Sky Eye F13

last question;
If everything fails, it would still be nice to know where to get 20mm drivers.
I found one at Intl-outdoorshop but its only 1A

ChibiM, I made that picture:

I though about making a thread about it, but never got around to it. Here is a follow up picture.

Moved wire (blue)

Connected 0R (just used solder, red circle)

Added resistor on top of capacitor/removed next mode memory (green circle)

I can not tell you why you did not loose any mode, maybe yours is programmed differently?

Im using mine as in the picture above. The mode spacing is nicer with 5 modes IMO. You get a higher medium, and much lower low.

As long as the next mode memory is gone, you dont even have to see sos and strobe. Just turn the light on and off in order to in order to get to high again. :)

I havent done the memory trick.... just removed the thing at the green.

are they somehow connected?
Im thinking of connecting the 4th and 5th leg on the rectangle black thing.MCU.. to try to get 3 modes? Like it helped on some other drivers.

thanks for using your picture ;)

@ RaceR86 do you have picture of that driver from another angle so I could see traces at the pcb and what is connected to what ?
I have a similar driver and need to find datasheet for that CX2829…

Update: never mind, I figured it out

I’m staring at a couple wondering — about to start with the changes suggested above but it’s been a while.
Did those all work out in use?

I don't have that light anymore. But with gearbest having the ultrafire F13 for below $10, I think this thread could use some updates, and hopefully help a few people out.

Got a couple of the recent GB F13s… Will take apart this weekend and report back.

Edit: took ’em apart, and they don’t have the same board. (It’s very similar, though.) They are 22mm, not 20. I put a resistor on top of the capacitor, which makes it always start on high and makes avoiding the strobe easier, and I moved the (+) wire, which may or may not have made a difference.

Any pics ?

I will be doing this mod later today and I’ll post pics. all I want is more amp draw.
