Different Run Times SK 68

I bought several Sipik SK 68 lights recently to gift, and keep one or two.
I have been using a clone to determine run times with various batteries. I set aside several brands of batteries to check in 3-6 months. Since there are 5 different batteries I wanted to see if the SK 68 lights were consistent enough to use 2 or 3 to test the batteries in the interest of time. I used some Duracell ion core batteries charged recently and giving the same voltage readings 2 were at 1.35V and one at 1.34V. The three lights were identical externally at least and purchased at the same time. But the run times were not the same, and not close enough to do testing using them all. Here are the run times of the Duracells in the three lights in high mode.
1- 1hr 57 min
2- 2 hr 3min
3- 2 hr 30 min

While lights 1 and 2 were relatively close, light 3 gave significantly longer run time. Guess I will have to use one light for all the tests.

Just fooling around for fun. FWIW

That's what most of us are here for.

Well, test each battery in each light for run time if you want to be more accurate. Assuming the batteries have the same capacity, they very likely and very commonly have different Amps to the LED, and this will affect the run times. SK68s have a thousand and one different manufacturers, and quality control is not very good, so its very much not surprising to have different run times of a similar capacity battery. But you also haven’t ruled out that battery capacity is at issue, and maybe you actually found out one battery has ~20% more capacity by accident.

Each battery was the same, Duracell ion core, and was at the same voltage level. I intend to check another or two in the longest run time light. Oltherwise that is the extent of my testing. I do not keep tabs on individual batteries. An assumption that the same brand out of the same package with the same voltage would have the same capacity may be in error. But I will try another and see how it does.
