smallest 18650 flashlight?

I don’t know exactly about the one on eBay, but like koyotee said the sk98 is just the 18650 version. I am sure there are some sk68 out there that have been labeled wrong.

FastTech sells a sk98,but for some reason I can’t post the link to it.

I refuse to get caught up in the biggest ,brightest ,smallest ,cheapest type quest. If you know what the smallest is than I'd add about 15% to that as it gives the maker a bit of wiggle room .if you are always looking for the tiniest or lightest you'll run into other stupid problems not normally associated with light 4 MM longer. you don't want a light that you can't get protected batteries in do you ? or one that has oddball parts that will make fixing it impossible if you ever have a problem. the s6 or s2+ is about as small a light as i'd suggest to most people .The brass cnqgoods light is smaller but weight and lack of clip is an issue .

SC series zebra lights are small but not cheap .

98mm cqg Brass

100mm Zebralight sc50

110mm roche f6

115mm Convoy S6

115mm Aleto /smallsun /ultra-fire 10-15$ sideswitch lights/s-5,cheap zoomies..etc (popular size)

115mm N-light L-2

117mm Convoy S2+

123mm convoy S2

135- 145mm average P-60 lights

i'd aim for 115mm. and buy something you like the look and feel of .

EZ answer is.... if you don't have a convoy s series light .... buy almost any one of them .. great bang for your buck lights .

As much as all of these lights are pocketable and i've carried them before . i don't think I'd ever edc a 18650 light in my pocket .....not all day , everyday

You might if you had an S20 with it’s never-fail deep carry clip.

NO one mentioned the Zebralight SC62? It’s 97mm long. Super small. I have 2 because they are so cool.

+1
Convoy S3 vs. Zebralight Sc62w

Thank you for all your answers.
I didn’t know that there are so many nice small flashlights.

Now it’s decision time.
I will chech all this lights. After I will have end list, I will ask for your final opinion.

Kind regards

I’d vote Zebralight SC62w. Great output, tint and UI. And smaller than any light listed in this thread other than much worse quality DQG18650 mini.

The SC62w and the DQG18650 actually weigh the same, but the DQG is a little more compact.

Do not buy DQG tiny 18650!!!

Small size comparison:

DQG Tiny 18650 (gen1), 18650 Brass Beauty (gen2), Skilhunt H02 New & T12 18650 ("Convoy S3")

Yeah, like everyone already saying, DQG Tiny 18650 is not worth it. Very buggy mode changing.

OK, here is my end list:

NITECORE EC21

ROCHE F6
can’t find web site

What will you choose and why?

I see that some flashlights have xp-g2 and some have xm-l2, which led is better?

I know that EC21 is available with coupon for 36$, F6 is also quite cheap but for others I don’t know where can I get them for lowest price. If you know, please post a link.

Thank you.

Kind regards

XM-L2 gives more light overall and XP-G2 throws better.

XinTD C8 V3 XM-L @2.8A ~23.5kcd

XinTD C8 V5 XP-G2 @3.04A (double the amp of manufacturer's recommendation, but still flood is dimmer than XM-L) ~42.7kcd

I can recommend the Sunwayman, I have one and it’s a very nice light. The Eagletac is also a very nice light. Were it me, I think it’d be a close run between these 2. The EagleTac would probably get my vote, comes with a belt clip AND a nice holster. The Sunwayman has a holster, but not as nice.

Tough call. Look closely at the user interface on both lights, output, and price probably last.

picked up my C20C, ok, I’d go with this one again.

I got one of the CNQG brass beauty lights in the smaller AA form factor recently and was pleasantly surprised! Nicely built, 3 levels, no blinkies and the tail clicky is pretty sweet on the size. I gave it to the lady at our local small Post Office, then promptly ordered another!

Personally I like the XP-G2 in tube lights. Much nicer than XM-L2. But most off the shelf makes don’t drive the XP-G2 very hard.

EagleTac offer a good range of emitters. Although I’m also a tint snob. And sadly they don’t offer the XP-G2 in NW only CW. They do offer the Nichia219B however, which is really nice, but lower output than the CREE’s.

I use the DQG 18650 every day, have done for over a year now, it’s nice because it fits in the little ticket pocket of my jeans and gives a lot of light
What’s not so good is I often have to service it for want of a better word, as after a few weeks it just flickers and is hard to get the right setting and isn’t waterproof as the o ring chews up, after getting through a pack of ten I bought from cnqg, I gave up on it having o rings

I have a titanium s15 a roche f6 and a few s2+
The s15 is only really used if im going out as the knurling doesn’t damage clothing and it looks smart but I don’t like the green tint though

When the DQG 18650 finally gives up, I’ll probably then carry either the roche f6 or s2+, both are bright, but I prefer the side switch and the ramping on the f6 ( though the ramping seems to have stopped working, although I got so many torches, I wonder if I only imagined it had ramping, I might have it confused with my crelant or another torch).
but I like the beam spread slightly more on the s2+

Neither are as small as the DQG 18650, but the trade of is they are 100% reliable when compared to the DQG

So if I’d known about the DQG faults I would never have bought the DQG and got use to its small size. I would certainly have gone for either the Roche f6 or the convoy s2+ with hindsight

I agree, thicker housing, bigger switch, decent size reflector gets you a better, more reliable light.

I just got my S2 host and for $9, the quality is amazing. Convoy is no doubt the best bang for the buck!

I have checked FT, GB, BG for Eagletac D25LC2 mini but this flashlight is not listed. Who sell this flight? Please give me a link.

Regarding SUNWAYMAN C20C, I found the cheapest price here:

http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004131/1306209-sunwayman-c20c-cree-xm-l-u2-6-mode-450-lumen-innov

Do you know if I can get it cheaper in some other store?

Thank you

Zebralight SC62 looks really nice too. Amazing output on it.

I normally EDC a Roche F6 F12. I find it to be a quality host, but I do not own the more expensive lights mentioned such as the Sunwayman, Eagletac, Nitecore, Olight, or CNQG/DQG options.

The Roche F6 F12 and Convoy options have the mid-grade “on time memory” that many of us find undesirable. For DIY purposes purchasing a host and installing a driver with “off time memory” would be best for those lights. If you are unable to do DIY, member RMM performs this service for a very low cost. Some other international members can also perform this service. If you are unable to DIY this may not make as much sense. Rather than spending extra to fix this shortcoming it may be best to simply go with one of the higher end lights to start with.

I suspect that the smallest light mentioned must be the Brass Beauty. It has been well received on BLF and I’ve considered purchasing one. I’m confident that this light also has the “on time memory” shortcoming.

EDIT: OOPS! I said Roche F6, but I meant Roche F12. Totally different light! Sorry.

Hi, just FYI, here’s the previous thread on this topic:

Copied from that thread, here are some measurements. Sorted by length:

  • Nitecore HC50: 86.2mm x 33mm (max) x 29mm (min)
  • DQG Tiny 18650 II: 87mm x 25mm (head) x 22mm (body)
  • ZL SC62: 96.5mm x 24.4mm (head) x ??mm (body)
  • Brass beauty: 97mm x 21mm
  • Roche F6: 112mm x 27.5mm
  • S-mini: 114mm x 22mm
  • Convoy S4: 115mm x 23mm
  • Convoy S3: 115mm x 24mm
  • Roche F12: 115mm x 24mm
  • Convoy S7: 116mm x 23.6mm
  • Ultrafire HD2011: 117mm x 24mm
  • Solarforce T1: 123.5mm x 24mm (head) x 22mm (body)
  • Convoy S2: 124mm x 24mm
  • Solarforce L2m: 136mm x 32mm (head) x 25.4mm (body)

These are all “small” 18650 lights, but the definition of small seems to vary quite a bit.

If I sort them by approximate volume (length * head diameter * tail diameter), the brass beauty comes out as the smallest (at 42.7 cm^3) and the HC50 is the second-biggest (at 82.5 cm^3). The L2m is, of course, the biggest (110.5 cm^3).
