They took my $3.
It says “Product Size:L120mm x W20mm x H20mm”. 120 mm. is rather long for a compact 18650 and 20 mm. is only 2 mm. wider than the battery.

Wondering how hard they are driven at and if it would be easy enough to upgrade to XML or XM-L2 ???

I would assume that it probably won’t be driven very hard. Hopefully the driver can be resistor modded. IMO it would be easier to upgrade the LED to a XPL so that the same centering ring can be used and it will fit without modification.
