Ebay Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Damn. Even though it's only like $2.22 per emitter (Hopefully, not XM-L L2 bin), I wasn't going to buy one. Now the intrigue has me too curious. The vendor seems to have legitimate history. Maybe the account was sold. I see the light is supposed to have 90mm head . :) Oh what the heck.

Ordered one.

So whats the deal with the photo shopped pic in Post 16?

I've been trying to get it, but I seem to be even thicker headed than normal tonight.

From same seller.

SRK 3x XM-L for $13.99
NiteCore i4 for $12.99
NiteCore D4 for $19.99

Too good to be true?

That SRK has been steadily dropping in price… I’m interested to see how far it goes.

Maybe. I have bought SRK's and I4's for just a hair more. We'll find out.

Wonder if he accidentally posted everything for his purchase price…

Price make a wrong, so sorry.

You know when they say if it’s too good to be true it probably is?
Well here is the deal (probably).
I was following some nightrider bike lights. Two different sellers came out with deals that were, well cheap enough that I could buy them and resell them and double my money, so I bought 6, then later I bought 2 more.
I also gave eBay a heads up that these will probably never show up (bogus tracking number given) after three calls and about 2 hours on the pone with eBay they “credited” my money back. Except for when I check the actual transaction they only sent the money for one light.
Well two more phone calls (they keep saying they will take care of it) finally I had PayPal, call eBay (while I was on the phone and get the bottom it.
Point being for some reason some “established” accounts appear (maybe they were sold or loaned to some one else) to cash in.
If you look this same sell has sold 303 of the SRK lights but no one has provided positive feedback you on any of them.
The SRK lights may or may not be a way to “steal ebay/paypals money” and out time but these lights are just too god deal.
Interesting in that they are the only ones without the “22000” writing on them, they are totally blank; maybe they fell off the truck before they could be printed? Or well who knows.
If you invest enough time you will get your money back, but I have seen this with $600 tents being sold for 45 from Estonia also well this is how accounts get closed.
Don’t think of it as you are risking money, think of it as you are investing time.
Cool lights but I just don’t need one I have enough.

I've haven't had to spend much time getting a refund. I just file a claim on ebay and they do the rest. Always has worked for me so far. That being said, I avoid the obvious scams too. Worth a risk to me because I would like a swap out one of my existing toilet plungers for a 90mm side-switch toilet plunger. Would prefer 9 emitters instead of 18 though.

To me it looks too good to be true.

OTH,
last year I was able to buy a 6 x XM-L2 SRK from DX for about $21. And it had a threaded pill plate.

Looks like robust and well made flashlihgt, with a potential for modding.
Just ordered one, can’t wait to take it apart
By the way, DX sells the same flashlight for $38, FT for $34, KD for $44, so I think this is a good deal…

^ That's definitely not a good sign. That and my tracking number is still not active. Probably will be contacting Ebay next week if still inactive. Looks like the folks that called it a scam were probably right.

@Ima4Wheeler - I would not worry. That light shows up in his feedback and the listing does state the middle of March.

There’s nothing wrong with not worrying, it’s probably healthier for you… but you also would not receive a light.

Frankly many of you folks scare me. The feedback history is the thing that should tip you off. Pages and pages of Nitecore chargers sold at the normal prices along with SRK clones sold at the normal prices. One SRK sold at a slightly low price (~$4 below normal)… and then dead silence. No trace of evidence that the seller has ever delivered an 18x plunger light, MT1-U06 phone, SJ4000 action cam, or fire-sale SRK… exactly the items which are currently selling like hot-cakes.

So let’s stop re-assuring people about this ‘deal’ and ideally not discuss it beyond warning people off… since it’s not a deal, it’s a scam.

Ultra OK SK68’s were delivered at $2.49 (I got 9), Trustfire TR3-T6’s for 13.99, S5’s for some ridiculous price (2.99?), Jacob A60’s for $9 and on and on.

So, not all killer deals are bogus.
That said, I did not bite on the Plunger, did buy 1 of the SRK’s at 14.99.
If it comes great, if not, Paypal will refund, no pain, no loss.

Later,
Keith

I actually just recently(this week) had a good experience with ebay seller brotherhuang. I ordered two lights and one of them was defective so they are sending me a new one to replace it. It had problems out of the box But they are making it right.

If wight didn't have me worried about the legitimacy of the deal I would have ordered the $14 SRK and $40 plunger light tonite. please keep us posted on those lights, I'd order at those prices.

I never had an eBay buy go bad that was not resolved. There were some defective products, unshipped, not-as-advertised, and several under-performing Li-ion cells. But all were resolved to my satisfaction.

My latest deal is a supposedly defective Olight M3X Triton on auction for $45 shipped. It worked out of the box (included) and is the best light I own with an awesome reflector.

So I gambled and ordered the SRK and plunger light.

Assumptions, we all make them. As I have indicated in several threads and post, I don't worry about these transactions. If it is scam, I just file a dispute with Ebay and they take care of the rest. Minimal money and time invested. No worries here. I was merely replying to indicate that the previous post was not a good sign and added that I still have no activity on the tracking number. This is information for others to use as they see fit.

Please don't be scared. We'll get through this.
