Anyone recommend a flooder?

I would like to pick up an inexpensive flooder ($100 or less if possible) that would be in the same realm as the Niwalker M15. A tripod mount would also be awesome but not necessary. I can’t seem to find anything with the flood or output capabilities as the M15.

like the MM15 but half the money, well…

But you can always pick up a “can” 2S4P light and start doing some moding.

or

for a lot less money

MT-G2 HD2010

or

New-117 (TK35 clone) mod. Turn a TK35 into a TK35UE

you may also want to look at the recent WTS from CK

To get a modded light by him for around your budget you may have gotten lucky!

Hmmm I like the thrunite Tn30. Even stock that seems like a decent flooder. I need to look and see how it stacks up to MM15. It sounds like CK’s isn’t a completed project yet. So that would rule me out. I don’t mind modding stuff but I prefer to buy stock flashlights or completed mods if possible. I have too many time consuming hobbies with mods already (motorcycles, home theater, guns, camping, woodworking etc……) If I bought one to mod I would never get around to it.

I don’t know of a factory light that’ll perform like that out of the box for $100 or less, but you can get there fairly easily with a few different lights with some modding.

My favorite flooder at the moment is a resistor-modded Yezl Y3 with an MT-G2. If you price out the light, an MT-G2 on 26mm MCPCB, two quality unprotected 26650s (unfortunately protected 26650s have a tough time fitting length-wise), good charger, some thermal paste and one little resistor and you’ll probably be under the $100 mark all-in.

The mod is very simple (difficulty depends on how well you can solder… so potentially challenging, but it’s still a mod with only a few steps). Also sorta depends on if you can buy an MT-G2 already mounted or if you’re fine with reflowing one. Might also require buying a thick-ish lens to make the bezel tighten down without rattling. An HD2010 would perform similarly (similar reflector size), but the driver in the Y3 only needs a tweak to the resistors to go from good to great. Even has a little throw to it… but mainly it’ll have a giant beam of pretty light with lots of spill.

Just add another resistor on top of the existing R150 or R180:

Stock = 3.06A
+R100 = 5.56A
+R150 = 4.72A
+R180 = 4.44A
+R200 = 4.31A

I’d stick to either an R150 or R180 for heat and runtime reasons. Actual amps at the LED would be lower (the above are what the driver would output if there wasn’t any other resistance, but there always will be due to springs, flashlight body, loss in driver itself, etc.).

Sorry for the long answer… best of luck.

K40m for 84$ at banggod.

I think runtimes might be in the 10-15 min range on 18350’s.

Trouble is, you are pretty much asking for what is akin to a hypercar but for budget money. It’s not that you can’t get similar results, but will require modding.

There are however a lot of 3-9 XM-L soda can style lights of various types. Some with handles and even a few with tripod mounts. Suspect something would be in budget. Or buy a couple of them. But you won’t get the same tint as the MT-G2’s.

How can I get it for $84 at BG? You know a code?

I’ve been looking for a budget super flooder too, Unfortunately I haven’t found anything $100 or less that would be in the same realm as the Niwalker M15. (unless maybe you build it yourself) The Acebeam K40M is probably your best bet if you can get it for under $100 and want the tint of MT-G2.

Its not a dedicated flooder but my Blackshadow Terminator puts out quite a wall of light and has the tripod mount. $110 after BLF discount.

What about the solar storm at banggood?

I figured a flooder like the MM15 would be good to use at work. But at the $100 price point I wouldn’t be as worried about it getting stolen like I would with the MM15.

A light with triple XP-Ls and the wider Carclo optics is floody. How floody compared to the Niwalker M15 I can’t say, but it’s my floodiest light. It is however a single cell light which might not be what you’re looking for.

Yeah, multiple batteries would be a plus. Long runtime is preferable.

left field option. Buy 4-6 Zuesrays from Dealmetic.com

De-dome if you want a warmer tint.

Then tape together and tape to some kind of universal trip pod mount. Ok you’ll have 4-6 switches, but the trade off is very versatile light, even more so with the zooming and @ $7.99 each including shipping, 6 of them would only be $47.94

Any light and pull the reflector.

Thanks for the free plug!

@ WF, the light is complete and needs no work, all it needs is 4.35v cells (which I have but I don’t have a 4.35v charger) so I’m not able to run it at full power however it is a completed build. Ready to use out of the box.

Its not a flooder but a very good light that has an awesome mix between flood and throw.
Check the Roche M170 it got a handle/tripod, 4x18650 batteries and you can choose the tint.

I have a modded Niwalker vostro mtg2 I am selling. Really nice neutral tint since it was dedomed and current bumped. No need to worry about run time since it has a massive heatsink. Pop in some 3400mAh cells and you can run it for a long time. Stock UI, has a holster, stock accessories and original box. Its not as expensive as a MM15 and a little over $100 but if you are interested let me know and I can send photos and details.

Livinloud….I would be interested to see and maybe purchase the light. Send me some info please.

Will do after work. It was modded by Vinh54 on CPF and many here, well most here, lnow of him and his great work. Really does do top notch work and it shows in the quality of his product. Anyways will take more photos and send the ones I have with info on it in a few hours
