I don't know what it will end up being, but I really doubt it will be under $100. There's just no way to make something like this and put good LEDs in it for less than that.
Do you think Hank can defy the laws of physics and make the light stay cooler while maintaing the same level of output? Either the output will be low and the temperature low, or the output will be high and the temperature high. Big light or small light. You can't have it both ways.
I say this slightly in jest, but people keep on wanting smaller and smaller lights with more and more LEDs, more lumens, then expect them to run on high or turbo indefinitely and are upset when they don't.
I’d rather have big output. A light like this is a pocket rocket… gimme enough output to make it blast to the moon!!!
If I need runtime and don’t want it to get hot I’d run it at lower power. Or better yet, maybe they’ll include a thermal sensor to keep the temperature in a safe range.
This new light looks to be about the same size and shape as the Zebralight S6330. It’s probably a lot smaller than a Skyray King…. good for people who like the brightest possible light in the smallest possible package.
As-is, this light looks pretty awesome. However, I’d like to see a similarly stubby light with a smaller head. A more cylindrical shaped light would fight in the coat pocket better. Maybe reduce the emitters to 3 triples instead of 4.
Ok, y’all knew I’d be all over this, right? Well, I love it! I’m gonna pester Hank to death to be the first one to see it! lol It’s got my name written all over it, gotta gotta gotta have it!
And who thinks I want to put 4 XHP70’s in it? What? That’d be…. crazy! |(
