Lowes Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Sweet combo! I’m going to Lowes tomorrow with printouts…

I’m wishing I did, but I’ll accept the original deal as I don’t have time to stop into lowes.

Hah! I grabbed 3 tonight totally forgetting all this talk of these being sold in threes! Bought one set for me sad two as gifts. Plenty on the shelves at my Lowe's.

My Lowes refused to cooperate and would not allow the combining of the 2 for 9.98
They said it is an online deal only and it could be ordered online and picked up at the store. Trouble is I can’t figure out how to actually order it. All stores are out of stock.
I may have to just let go if this and be happy with what I got.

^ I didn't have any luck either. Was going to ask you to dchotize me and try again, but it appears that this one is even beyond your powers.

If the ratchet works as advertized, I'm quite happy with the deal we got. I'll be babying my ratchet and just use it for those frustratingly tight spaces that cars today are loaded with. I miss the old Falcons and such were you could practically climb in the engine compartment to work on the engine.

Subscribed. Weird no recent deals posted this long after Christmas.

The direct-drive ratchet & socket sets are still sitting on the shelf at my Lowes at the $9.98 price. Plenty of stock.

Mine too. And BTW, I have had the chance to use my DD ratchet several times and I really like it. It seems strange at first, but once you get used to not hearing and feeling the clicks it is really in nice. I have not had a chance to really wail on it though and I don’t intend to.

As far as Lowes deals lately, they really suck. Maybe this spring.
On the other hand, they still have some of the LuxPro lights at full list. At that price they are just not worth it.

If you need a staple gun, here’s a name brand one for $4. Opt for in store pickup and you won’t have to pay shipping.

i don’t really need the ratchet set even though it is a good price, plus all the local stores are out. $4 for the stapler is a pretty good deal. Local store has 20 of them. I’m going to stop in the morning and pick one or two up.

Well struck out. Only one local store has them. Says they have 20 in stock but they can’t find them. Spent 30 minutes this morning with multiple employees with no luck. Plus it won’t let me ship to store unless they have it in stock. No point in using the one with stock as it’s lost.

If you select ship to store, and the store can’t fulfill it from their own stock, the distribution center will have to send them one for you.

Notice this last week. My lowes has a bunch of tool marked down. Only ones I found marked down enough for me to buy were there 1/4" drive sockets (50% off):

Might be useful to somebody. 2 sizes included.

Sale ’til 4/21

I did pick up the Metric 1/4” sockets plus a 10% discount

A friend of mine found this deal

only he didn’t pay $58.21 but rather $1.92. He bought all 7 and gave me one.

This is a 50 inch clamp edge for using as a guide when cutting doors and plywood with a skill saw. Very handy, and now I have one.

^ Nice. I probably walked right past some of those today and didn't even know they were on clearance like that.

I did purchase a metric and a SAE 1/4" 6-point socket set that GarryBunk alerted us to above.

Lowe's has a whole bunch of markdowns on home LED light bulbs. The 40w & 60w equiv. are $2.48 each!

Those socket/ratchet sets that were $9.98 forever went up in price for the Memorial Day sale! :) Now $19.98 IIRC.

-Garry

According to Lowe's website, the Utilitech LED bulbs are still $2.48/each (i.e. the markdown was not just a Memorial Day sale as that sale ended yesterday). I'll be really surprised if this is a permanent markdown. It's probably to combat Home Depot selling those Philips 2-packs at $4.97/ea (which are showing as being back in stock at my store). My Lowes also replenished its stock of the 60w equivalents. These Utilitech bulbs are 3,000k, not the usual 2,700k so they will look odd if you mix them (or even between rooms using different color temps). I personally like these 3,000k a lot. My personal experience is that a 40w equivalent LED bulb will replace a 60w equivalent CFL with equal amount of light. When I replaced a 60w equivalent CFL with a 60w equivalent LED it was way too bright! (Though this was on a ceiling fan using 3 bulbs.)

Just wish I could find a standard A19 / E-26 25w equivalent LED bulb that didn't cost an arm & a leg!
