Test/Review of Eachine PA40W 5 channel usb power supply/charger

Thanks again for yet another great review .

Thanks for this HKJ - I love these reviews, especially when you destroy them in the tear down at the end. Impressive that it can handle 8A in total, though I think Iā€™ll stick to my Ioncell one that you reviewed some time ago - itā€™s good enough for my needs.

Thanks! Just ordered one.

After seeing it inside I would have like a undamaged unit for my own use.

Thanks HKJ. Has anyone found an alternate supplier as Amazon will not ship to Australia. Google has failed me in my attempts.

One more item to add on a wish list
Thanks HKJ.

This one looks identical to me:

Even cheaper unbranded: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221670457118

It might be that, but it is difficult to say without opening it.

I plan on testing more usb power supplies (At least 10), including some more multichannel high power ones. It will be stand alone reviews like this.

This means that I will be publishing the reviews over a couple of months.

And I did order two of the unbranded ones, one for testing and one for myself if it the other passes the test.

Good news. Will be waiting for results.
Thanks!

Belkin? Really? Not likely, Iā€™d guess

Belkin? Really? Not likely, Iā€™d guess, but quite a variety of these out there now.

Pity nobody makes them with transparent cases so you can see whatā€™s inside, eh?

And more than 175 if you just search ā€œ5-Port USB-Wall-Chargerā€
price between $10 and $200

Itā€™s a strange world ā€¦

It appears Banggood is the official supplier but they are out of stock.

I ordered one from Amazon based on HKJā€™s review. (Thanks!) It arrived in four days without premium shipping. It does appear to be identical to the unit pictured in kaiserā€™s post.

I use it to run my ā€œXTAR VC2ā€ Li-ion charger, which uses USB power and was previously connected to my Apple iPad power supply. The other ports are handy for charging tablets and phones using short USB to Lightning connectors available on eBay.

A great gadget. Thanks for the tip!

Available at Banggood: http://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-40W-Smart-5-Port-High-Speed-Desktop-Charger-With-Power3S-Technology-p-976084.html

Thatā€™s interesting: The name on the circuit board pictured is ā€œvinsicā€. Iā€™ve bought 2 identical looking units with this brand name (vinsic) some time ago at Amazon.de. The Model No. is VSCW502 and the specs are almost identical to the one above. (smart outputs, 8Aā€¦) Nice to know that these prob. will be of the same quality tested and approved as the Eachine above. Compared to other similar multi-output devices Iā€™ve tested (Anker 40W, Tecknet 50W) the Vinsic has a little low output voltage acc. to my measurements (with charger monitors). With 1A load still at 5.02V it drops to 4.92V at 1.8A load. The voltage level of the other brands is a bit higher which can be a good thing in order to gain the max charging rates with USB units.

ā€œBlitzWolfā€ at BangGood

ā€” the label in the BangGood picture says Manufactured by ā€œShenzhen Shebel Science and Technology co.LTDā€
(note lower case and no space in ā€œco.LTDā€)
ā€” the label pictured in the review here (first post) differs in that last bit
(having a comma after the period: ā€œco.,LTDā€

Trivial difference, but thatā€™s what we look for to identify fake battery wrappers, so I have to ask.
Same long model number in the two pictures: ZQW121123050805
and ā€™oogle finds upwards of 600 hits for that, several different brand names on whatā€™s presumably (one hopes) the same thing.

Just concerned that itā€™s possible to get the same board with parts left off to save money, as observed on seemingly identical hardware of other sorts.
Who ya gonna trust? Nobody, without verifying.

ā€™oogling finds a variety of variations, for example:

Note the various differences in the output power label too.

and ā€™oogle on the model number (above) finds an Amazon model listing a different manuufacturer
ā€œdirected by FLOUREON manufactured by Zhengbaiā€

At least the Model number and manufacturer as well as the rest of the inscription on the side of the box looks identical. It seems like one OEM manufacturer (Shenzen Shebel Scienceā€¦) sells his products under various brand names, maybe for different markets / world regions.

Hi HKJ, any plans to do any of the Anker products?

Yes, I have two usb chargers in queue.

Excellent, they seem popular here in the UK, I will keep an eye out for the reviews
